Nope, when I was growing up it wasn't the problem that it is now. We got popcorn balls, homemade cookies, etc. without a worry. Even when my son was at that age there wasn't anything like that.

LOL don't you just love the words they get stuck on and use often!

Like Susanne we got candied apples, popcorn balls and homemade goods but can't do that now. I don't think I ever got anything I didn't like but if I did we (brothers and sisters) would always trade with each other.

Over the years we have read of scary problems creeping into the treats. That is so sad. It must have been nice getting those homemade treats. Homemade is the best, a pity everything has to be so 'safe' these days.

LOL yes out of the mouth of babes come strange things. lol. My kids always trade even at Christmas. That is fine by me. Last night we did not get a single knock on the door, a good thing too since I did not have any treats.

We have never really celebrated Halloween around here and growing up I had never heard of it. One year we did get a gross Halloween *treat* for want of a better word. No candy .. eggs thrown all over the house!

I can *almost* hear a two year old saying "GROSS" like that .. too funny!

Glad Halloween is over and glad I didn't eat any candy. Now dh needs to keep it well hidden until we can give it to our ddil when we see her next!

I only got my niece so that leaves plenty of candy for the kids. LOL I'm sure they don't mind!

What a mess that must of been and egg after drying is so hard to get off. I didn't pick//eat any candy either but do have a bowl of it sitting on the kitchen table. Hope the kids finish it off quickly!

I do remember a time when a man on the other side of town was giving the kids Ex-Lax in their treats. We also went through a period when things like razor blades and needles were put in candy. Sad & disgusting.

ROFL...now I bet if you try REALLY hard you can go find all those goodies hiding away and just have a little snack! (wink)

No Halloween when I grew up either.Yuk on the eggs. I figure if I don't have any treats I just don't open the door and hope they go away. I just realised this is 2 years with no knocks on the door, but a few streets away DS had heaps of cute little trick or treaters.
