A tip I saw one time was to take everything out of the kitchen & put it in boxes, then take things out as you need them and put them away when done. At the end of a time period you choose, a week, two weeks, a month, whatever is left in the box is donated, stored in the garage or thrown out.

Great that you got it done lol and didn't put it off like I would of! Hope it doesn't get cluttered up to quickly. If it's like my kitchen you hardly ever see the table!

One thing that could go would bethat coffee maker for brewing tea for iced tea. Take a look down the board at an iced tea syrup recipe I posted a few days ago. It is really great, stored in fridge and take out a little and make up as needed....just remember not to squeeze the tea. At least try it once, it really does work.

I see you have made the changes, good luck living with it and seeing how it works for you, oh and also if you have a garage you could store some things there. That is where my punch set and fondue set are stored as I don't use them often.

That is an interesting idea Susanne, might keep that in mind next time I get frustrated with the clutter. I really need to clear out some cupboards and make better use of the space.

So .. how have you gone with this today!

Slash and burn as they say. I reckon having a kitchen blitz every now and then and just chucking out left right and centre and putting *good* things not used for a year or more into a box to give away is the way to go!

I have often done that with other rooms.

OK....goin' for that iced tea syrup recipe now. Thanks. Will try it for sure. You told me once before with a sweet tea recipe.....do not squeese the tea bag. I actually prefer to take the tea from the bag before heating anyway. But will try the recipe as the chef intended first!!

Give it a go once then play with it, because it is a concentrated syrup you only make up as needed you don't want any bitterness in there. If it is too sweet cut the amount of sugar the next time. Let me know what you think when you try it.

I have open shelving in my utility room above the washer/ dryer/freezer to store appliances in easy reach. I also have a pegboard in there to store cooking utensils and pots. Everything is put away but easily reached. That way my counter is almost empty.
