How seasonal are you?

I think it's great to see seasonal cooking make such a comeback among my generation. We eat about 75% seasonal produce. I still get bananas for the kids - which are never in season in Colorado

I try and us local when I can and grow some veggies/herbs when it's warmer. The apple orchard still has apples even though they are out of season. Nice that they can keep them a lot longer than the season. I've tried to stay away from canned veggies this year and spend the little extra to buy fresh. Well as fresh as they can be when coming from other states!

We've been getting apples in our produce box too Kim. Not sure exactly where they're from, but the sticker says USA. It's one of the things my kids love to eat, so I always try to keep them in stock at home.

We've stopped eating canned veggies too. Well, I do buy canned beans sometimes since I never remember to soak dry beans in advance! But the other stuff we've started trying to just eat what's in season.

Same here with the beans, always forgetting to soak them! I do remember when I'm making my homemade beans but when making chili or soups it's the can.
