On a hot summer day, there's nothing more refreshing than biting into a cold wedge of watermelon. Which is probably why August 3 is National

I'm not a big fan of watermelon but do it it a couple times a year. The kids love it so we buy it often. I think they'd love the watermelon limeade!

I have some cut up for the bub in the fridge. It does make a nice salad too.

If I don't cut it up it just sits in the fridge lol think the kids are to lazy to cut it if they want some. Just easier for me to cut it and put in containers for them to take to school and work.

Gosh that is always the case here too Kim. If I buy any type of melon and don't cut it up myself, it just sits until it goes bad. I guess no one wants it that much! I find the same is true with lettuce. I have to wash it and cut it up as soon as I get home so everyone can just grab it when they want it.

I think it is pretty much the same the world over with melons, have to cut it up too, otherwise they just don't use it. I have never bothered doing that with lettuce but does make sense if people want to make a fast sandwich or salad...mind you here they just wait for me to make one for them! I think I have spoilt them!

Unfortunately here I have spoiled them-I simply do it better-for example-DH will open a can of tuna and put in a little mayo and put it on bread-I use tuna, onion, celery, spices, boiled eggs
