Do you or someone you love need to cut back on your salt intake? If so, there are some great tips and ideas here. What have you done to cut the habit? I think "learn to love other spices" has been key for me and it gets easier as I learn to cook more.

About the only thing I salt is a hard boiled egg and I've taken the salt shaker off the kitchen table where DH eats.

Thanks for letting me know! I will definitely pass this on. Some other folks who use AVG have also seen this, but so far no one who uses other software. We are pretty sure that it is a false positive but we are, of course, taking it very seriously. Someone is inspecting it right now!

Like Susanne I just use salt on eggs...Wasn't always that way though but when losing wieght I cut way back on the salt. My dd's bf uses so much salt! Told him he needs to cut back, he said he's always used a lot of salt even when a kid.

Maybe his blood pressure is low and his body is craving it. I know mine does.

I to crave salt from time to time.. I thought it was my age causing me it..
One day I will crave it real bad and the next I could care less of having it ..

I find adding fresh herbs at the end of cooking helps me cut out salt. using recipes that use fresh veggies also helps if you don't cook them until they are mush! DH salts everything heavily so I don't cook with salt because he will add it anyway. I also find that DD salts heavily. I think they teach that in culinary school. Food network chefs salt a lot while cooking..salting every layer!

Hi Wren. I don't think it has to do with age, unless you are losing the sense of taste. That I still have, but have always used salt.

Frest herbs will work and not over cooking things too. I do have salt next to the stove for cooking. Love to use it to season, but not heavily. The cooking shows here say SEASON too.
