What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Will you be cooking, going to family/friends home, eating out?

I'm cooking dinner here this year, have about 14-16 people coming. We down sized our kitchen table so I'll have to set up folding tables/cares so everyone has a place to sit! Haven't decided on much of the menu other than the turkey, stuffing and gravy...

I don't even want to think about Christmas. NOT looking forward to it at all. I'll probably put up the tree just because DH wants it, but I really don't care.

Christmas is just around the corner and I haven't started shopping yet! My mom does Christmas dinner but with health issues the last few years she hasn't. Not sure if she'll be doing Christmas dinner this year or not...

Ditto it feeling like summer just ended.   This fall has flown by.

My mom always hosts Thanksgiving.   We have ham and a turkey.   She does that, mashed potatoes, green beans rolls, and pumpkin pie (love it).   I do the corn pudding. cranberry relish, spinach casserole, and a coconut cream pie.   We will have about 12 people there.

Good luck to your dh! That's nice that her mom invited you to dinner, would make things a lot easier on you if you don't have to cook. Don't know how it can be Thanksgiving next week, feels like summer just finished!

Nice that they still want to continue Thanksgiving...LOL I don't eat pumpkin pie either but do make it for dh and the kids. I have a recipe here somewhere, will look for it and post. I love pumpkin roll and pumpkin whoopie pies but not pie! I'll be making pumpkin whoopie pies in a few minutes for the school tonight. They're having a show and needed bake goods to serve after the show. Right now I'm making ds rice pancakes for breakfast. Have to go wake him, back later with that recipe!

I have no idea. I told the kids I wasn't doing anything this year. We've been invited to DS2's fiance's Mom's if we want to go. DH is having cataract surgery this Wednesday so a lot will depend on his recovery. DS2's birthday is the day after Thanksgiving so we may just do something on Saturday, coffee and cake maybe.

Most years I would have to say that "we don't do Thanksgiving around here" BUT this year is different.   My ds and his family have been living in the U.S. for years and now they are home they want to have Thanksgiving here too!   Love it!   Ddil has never cooked a turkey so I am going to show her how to do that.    Hmm, am going to have to drag out a pumpkin pie recipe (eww LOL!) and one for a pecan pie too (YUM!)

That's quite a crowd you have coming Kim.  I have a huge crowd for Christmas this year and am not even going to try and seat everyone at the same table!

Things are working a little better around here but a long way from perfect still.
