Happy Australia Day to you too, Hilary. Showers here right now so not sure about tomorrow I was going with pasta salad and a green salad to go with the lamb kebabs and pork ribs, but am thinking if this keeps up roast veggies might be a better option. Doing a smoked salmon and asparagus quiche to start. Really don't feel like making dessert so avoiding thinking about that for now lol...cfan't put it off much longer. Wish I had just bought something. Oh well will throw together a pie or a cake early in the morning. Don't think we are kicking off till midday. You should see the Aussie outfit for the 2 year old. So cute and fake flag tattoos for her arms.

Oh I so miss watching the ferry races. Hope it will be on tv.

Well his list would have things like steak and kidney pie and livers etc....yuk. Not going to find me cooking those.

Lamb sold out fast today. I went at 8am and had to go to three butchers to get it. Must remember to make some mint sauce. I wonder if now would be a good time to panic since I have done very little. LOL Planned on outside but will see if the weather agrees with that. Hope your rain stops.

The rain is hitting here too and river is coming up. The visitors stayed all afternoon as they were forced to cancell their early morning trip this morning to go to a wedding. All the roads are cut. Looks like they will be sticking around here for the weekend. They can't risk driving through flood water and having their insurance nul and void. Such a pity for the wedding, most of the guests can't get there.

A leg of lamb for $30 is too much . It won't be on my shopping list at those sort of prices. It is nice your coupon was used. I hope he enjoyed it. At least with the kebabs there was not all that much meat, so not too expensive. They were so good. We started with a salmon and asparagus quiche. That disappeared really fast. We just had a big green salad and I did a dish of roast butternut pumpkin and potatoes. Had a really nice afternoon. Apart from the rain I hope you did too.
