I got to get a turkey - and because this only happens in L.A. - its gonna rain -

for some reason it always rains on weekends and not during the week - this is our rainy season

If I get it Sat I'll put in freezer til Mon morning - if I get it Sunday - I'll keep in fridge cuz it can last a few days after defrosting - kwim - the tag tells ya how long it is good for - just trying to find a 10lb - its not that easy

Already looking forward to turkey sandwiches - and I hate to cook on TG - joh well - the deals at Walmart won me over!!!

Hi Penny. Sounds like you are organised for Thanksgiving, which is now just around the corner. I hope you find the perfect size turkey. Around here it is heating up. I am planning an Italian party for the end of the month so want to get some shopping done over the weekend and maybe a little cooking ahead and freezing. Also a food wholesaler has a delicious lemon tart that would be perfect for Christmas BUT is a stupid price.....however this weekend is $7 off, so might go get one. Not sure. Today is washing day, no fun at all. Dinner is going to be pork chops on the bbq. They are marinating right now. Will do with some mushrooms and sweet potato. Was going to have a salad but the lettuce was yuk. So what are you having for dinner?

Hi Penny, it's raining here in Connecticut also and could turn to snow showers tonight. Weekend looks good but might have snow the day before Thanksgiving! Sounds like you have everything set what with the deals you found. Just need that turkey, hope you have luck finding a small one!

Sounds like a great weekend planned out! I'm getting my hair cut Saturday but not sure what I'll be doing the rest of the weekend. I do want to go to the big tag sale they're having at one of the old mills in town. Hoping to get there Saturday morning but if not they are open Sunday too.

So listen to this - last night I decided to go to grocery store - in L.A. there are 2 major chains and the have the "rewards" stuff.

So - I found a Butterball turkey...11.6lbs - just what I wanted - it was $13 in change

So I got a few other things that Walmart NEVER CARRIES AND the bill was $20 - no way - well I paid - went to the car and looked at the receipt - they mistakedly
