Off the topic of cooking...but something has come up today, that I could sure use your ideas on.

Seems I am now one of millions of allergy sufferers (?).

Dd has double blinds that work great. The one closest to the glass stops people seeing in but lets you look out and light in. It is a kind of light mesh and easy to dust. I am thinking of putting some of them in here. The second one comes down and is basically blockout. The other thing you could do is go with the drapes but get a film to put on the glass. Tints it a bit and makes it more private, then just pull the drapes at night. Some of the newer vacuum cleaners have tiny micro dust filters for allergy suffers, might be something worth looking at. Good luck.

The colored film with light curtains sound like it would work well. DD has allergies so we've always used curtains on her window. Easy to wash and keep the dust down. If I think of anything I'll be sure to come back and post.

Forgot to mention that the doctor also told us to take all books, stuffed animals and any other things that collect dust that aren't easy to clean out of her room. Running the air conditioner all year was anothing thing he said but we live in CT. to cold for that! We do in the warmer months...

Yes and yes she's almost 23 now and still has allergies. LOL babysteps is good, hard to get rid of everything but weeding out some would help.

Something I have learned while on this quest is that you also have to consider your time/work/home schedule and what's outside of those windows (neighborhood and the clean or not so clean windows).

Yesterday I tried just pulling the mini blinds all the way up as though they were not there.

Maybe wooden shutters for the bottom half of the windows? Or if you might think about the new blinds that open from the top or the bottom.
