Do you have a favorite winter recipe? Mine is from Peg Bracken's "I Hate to Cook Cookbook"

Peg Bracken's Stay A Bed Stew
Source : I Hate to Cook Cookbook
Servings : 6

2 pounds beef -- cubed
1 cup carrots -- sliced
2 onions -- chopped
1 teaspoon salt
dash white pepper
1 can Tomato soup
1/2 can water -- use soup can
2 medium potatoes -- sliced
1 bay leaf

Place all ingredients in casserole dish. Cover and bake at 275 degrees F for 5 hours. Serve. OR place in slow cooker and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, or until done.

What foods do you crave on cold wintry days?

Yes love pasta with fried up hamburg and sauce, never tried it with the tomato juice but sounds great. I like quick easy meals that are budget friendly and warms you up!

I haven't had hamburg, gravy over noodles in such a long time, love it but no one else in the house will eat it lol. Something mom made a lot when we were kids! Ds loves chicken and dumpling or beef stew with dumplings so I try to make them a few times a month.

At this time (lol changes from time to time) it would be a soup ds found on the web. It's called "Why the Chicken crossed the road Santa Re-Tastic Tortilla soup. It has chicken, zucchini, chipotle in adobo peppers and a few other things. So good lol he is really getting sick of making it! I would have him make it for me once a week if he would but try and stick to a couple times a month so he isn't TO sick of it lol.
