Hawaiian Steak BBQ

Hawaiian Steak Barbecue
2 1/2 lbs. chuck steak, 1 1/2" thick
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 onions, chopped
1 cup crushed pineapple, or pineapple juice
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sherry
1 t. sugar
1 t. powdered ginger
1 t. salt
Remove fat and bones from steak. Cut into 1 1/2" cubes if desired. Put into shallow dish or large plastic bag. Mix together the remaining ingredients. Pour over steak cubes or whole steak in plastic bag. Marinate at room temperature about 4 hours. Stir occasionally or you can let it marinate all night in the fridge. Remove from marinade; put on skewers and grill over hot coals, or if making whole steak, broil about 10 to 12 minutes on each side on broiler rack. Serves 4
