So the FRG for David's unit is throwing me a baby shower, and its a bring food type event. Any ideas on what I could bring? I was going to make "beer dip" which has ranch packet and a very little bit of beer and cheese but I am afraid people will judge me for that, I guess I don't have to tell them there is beer in it though....

So any other ideas....???

Find beer that 0% alchol, that does exist and that saved me a few times when I wanted beer in food when I was pregnant.

Or make  this  http://southernfood.about.com/od/crockpotdips/r/bl24c3.htm

The only thing I would worry about is if someone is taking some type of medication that shouldn't be taken with alcohol. I know it's only a small amount but if someone taking Antabuse eats or drinks something with alcohol, they have a reaction of chest pains, sweats, shortness of breath and tons of nausea & vomiting. They can't even use mouthwash with alcohol in it.

So, that would be the only thing I would worry about.

As far as other suggestions, (which I think it's nice of you to bring something too but not necessary since you are the guest of honor) would be BLT Dip with toast points, Buffalo Chicken Dip with club crackers, Ranch Cheeseball & any type crackers or some type of taco dip with tortilla chips.

Oh I do not think it would be rude of you not to bring anything.  Actually it is very nice of you to think to bring something.  You could just change the name of the dip but if someone asks you for the recipe you might get caught - lol!

That's sweet of them, but I would think the guest of honor shouldn't have to bring anything. But the dip would be fine, and I agree to change the name.
