We are starting a Biggest Loser competition at work today. We are computing by percentage of weight lost. 7 people are getting in on it and there is $140 for the winner. We are doing this through April 1st. I have to admit it's a little intimidating. I've never tried to lose or really even manage my weight before. Truth be told, I used to smoke. I quit several years ago. And when they say you gain weight when you quit, they aren't kidding. I gained more from quitting then I did with either of my pregnancies! I'm looking to lose between 10 and 20 pounds. I know diet and exercise are important, which I need to be better about. Planning will be the key. Any and all help, advise, and tips are greatly appreciated. Any WW recipes are also appreciated. I will search here, pinterest, and the internet for WW and healthy recipes to "fool" my family into eating. :)
Dr Phil said the other day that will power has nothing to do with it. It's all about programming yourself to do it.

The chicken recipes sound good!
I need to start eating better- we do a thing for our health insurance and it told me I needed to!
Also John needs me to start making better meals... Its time =)
GOOD FOR YOU TRACY!!! I was 190 over, but I plan on getting some better food in the house so that will help.
You guys are doing great! I've been a lazy slug all of December. Especially during Christmas break. It's been way too cold to walk although I see walkers right now. eek guess I can't really use that as an excuse. I have to get back into the swing of things. I feel sllloooowwwwwww
I've been on the treadmill but I do know our school gym has "walker time". The gym is open to the public for walking certain hours during the week in the winter.
DH told me that he'd never heard the treadmill work so hard as it did last night. I could feel it and was starting to sweat.
I've had broccoli in my last two WW lunches. Man o man was it good. I am really wanting brown rice and broccoli for supper. I hope these "cravings" keep going! One of the guys at work is doing an Advocare cleanse. He said he's lost about 3 lbs already. WHAT? We weighed in on Wednesday. According to him you drink some nasty protein shakes, a gallon of water a day, as much fruits and veggies, and you want, but there is a very strict limit on everything else. You do this cleanse for 10 days and then slow add back in the other things (grains, proteins, etc).
Don't do it Susan. Just drink lots of water and eat the right foods. You did not gain the weight in ten days and it won't come off in ten days. Exercise, drink lots of water and better food choices.
Sorry - down off my soap box I come. Any of you can tell me to put a plug in my mouth if I get to lecturing too much.
