Coat Question

I have a vent/rant. And I want opinion. Maybe I am just neurotic. Jeff is obsessed with coats. He won't take them off. We have been battling over this all winter. The cold snap we had this weekend stirred it up again.

He claims when he gets up, if it's 60 or below, when he gets dressed he puts on a coat. He zips it up. He wears it like a shirt. He does have on a shirt, it's not in place of a shirt, but he won't take it off. He will come over to the house and the coat will NOT come off. He watches TV in it. He eats in it. He says he loves wearing a coat and sees no reason to take it off.

I was raised that it was rude to wear a coat inside. To me it's a sign that he isn't comfortable, like he's just popping in for a minute and then leaving.

He was here last night for supper. It was 61° here yesterday. He was wearing a coat like this:

He has heavier coats and he wears those inside, all zipped up, too. Opinion? Am I being crazy by ranting to him about it and making him take his coat off?   Or would any of the rest of you be uncomfortable with a dinner guest wearing his winter coat at the table?

If it were a hoodie or a fleece like the one pictured it wouldn't bother me. A big heavy winter coat, that would be rude to me too...

If it were a fleece or hoodie, it wouldn't bother me.  By the looks of the picture it wouldn't bother me either way.  If it were a big puffy, winter coat, that's a different story.  I always take off my coat when I go somewhere.  I don't like the constricted feeling of a coat.  But if I was staying somewhere for a length of time, I would take it off, no matter what the weight of the coat was.

I do have a furnace.   And it was on.   My house was 68 degrees yesterday.   And we ate inside.

Only way it would be ok with  me is if there was no heat in the house or we were eating outside.
