Freezer Meals

Okay, yes, I am still addicted to Pinterest... and I found a website with a great idea for prepping and freezing meals, then just dumping it all in a crock pot in the morning then supper that night.

This lady preps 3 or 4 meals in a few hours and then labels them and sticks them in the freezer. She even puts the meat in the bag too.

It's a great idea and probably a huge time saver in the morning.

They sound pretty good Daisy but I am so not a big fan of slow cooker meals this wouldn't work for me.

I knew Sandy wasn't a crockpot fan - I am not really, either.

We use it for long, slow, reheats essentially, not actual cooking! Erick's pulled pork from the freezer (done in the smoker first) and beef stew (with the meat and veg all sauteed first) are pretty much the only things we make in it. Nothing seems to taste great (or look good) if you don't cook it on the stove first, and what is the point of THAT?

I like using my crockpot but only because I'm home and can put stuff in there for 4 hours. Soups, chili and baked beans taste better from there. And I do like to make my pulled pork in there, but I only cook meat in there for 3-4 hours even on low because both of mine cook too hot. But these freezer meals are a great idea if you have a crock that you can set a timer on and have t shut off after that time and just warm. I do love walking in the door and smelling dinner! And when I'm home, smelling dinner cooking all afternoon is wonderful!!

The crockpot is a must in my house. If I didn't use it during crazy, busy schedules we would never eat. Soups and chili's are great in there. Daisy, I think those are great ideas. What is this pinterest? I've seen my niece posting about it on facebook.

Correct me if I'm wrong Daisy - but what I've gathered is it's a giant "corkboard" of pictures. You can "like" them, comment on them, and "repin" them to your own wall. Basically its a giant website of ideas.

The only thing is you have to be invited to the website. Not sure why.
