It sure is Pi day - we are celebrating our Fifth Annual Pi Day at my school today. At lunchtime kids can solve a pi-related math problem to earn a piece of donated pie. It is always a fun time. I always volunteer for pie-serving, though, not math help!
Usually my favorite pie is chocolate cream, but I love a good lemon cream pie, too. Not as big a fan of meringue. Marie Calender's restaurant had a double cream lemon pie that had cream cheese in it. That was SO good. Unfortunately, our Marie Calenders went out of business. We never actually ate there, just picked up a pie once in awhile. Maybe that is why they went out of business.

My favorite is my grandma's peach or an apple. I need to make another soon.

My favorite pie is chocolate cream pie. There was a place called Bishop's where I grew up and they had the best chocolate pie of all time! My mouth waters for that pie still to this day. No one has come close to the taste. I so wish I could have a piece right now.
It was Pi day at my DD's school too. The math teacher emailed all parents to bring in pies for their pie activities. DD was gone from school all day today with the school band for their assessment performance on the University of KY's campus. So I was that bad mom that didn't sent a pie in.
My favorite is my homemade coconut cream. Not meringue. Yuck. Must be real whipped cream. I love pie though. Most all pie. Cherry, apple, pumpkin, pecan, Derby, blueberry.... I could go on and on.
I had to look up Derby pie, Tracy - never heard of it before? Sounds like something I would like, though. Chocolate, walnuts and bourbon? Nothing wrong with THAT.......
I like pie better than cake. For a fruit pie I would pick cherry and for a cream pie it would be a toss up between banna cream or Tracy's homemade coconut cream.
