watched the movie version of the book and wondered if they were truly one and the same?????

While we were on vacation in Maine I finished up a book I was reading and went looking for something light and quick to read.

I usually skip those movies because they are never the same.

I always try and read the book 1st because they are always better then the movie. Too much seems to get left out in the movie, or changed and that bothers me. I still have Water For Elephants sitting here waiting to be watched, I'm curious if I will like it as much as I did the book.

I am also typically disappointed with the movie version. Running with Scissors was the worst for me. Haven't read this book though.

I am an animal lover Sandy, and I had a hard time getting through those parts of the book, but I did love the book and it was fast read for me. A couple days and I was done. That's good for me! Tammy's sister almost walked out of the theatre when she went to see it, or did walk out (I can't remember) But she never read the book first so I just assumed that it was because it caught her off guard. Hmmm, not sure what to

I don't care for how they describe the treatment of the animals.... like feeding the star horse, Silver Star, to the lions after he had to be put down... and starving the animals in order to buy them for a cheaper price.

I will also say that I am not a big fan of the graphic sexual stuff. It's neither sexy or enticing... it's just plain gross to me so far. Not that I'm reading it for that stuff anyway but I had a hard time getting the mental picture out of my head of Jacob walking in on Kinko, the midget clown, having a private moment with a pornographic comic book!

So, ... should I keep reading or stop?
