Holiday Menus?

I know Christmas is still over a week away, but wondering what people are planning for holiday meals? Anyone hosting Christmas dinner? What about Christmas eve? New years eve?

We are here on our own for Christmas day. And DH has that week off, so I'm planning on making too much food on Christmas day so we can have leftovers all week. Not sure what we're doing Christmas eve. Maybe going out to early dinner and then driving around to look at the lights.

On Christmas day, I'll have breakfast casseroles ready to pop in the oven after presents. Plus, Emma requested cupcakes for breakfast and Christmas seems the best day to be so indulgent. I found some banana peanut butter ones that sound good. I'm going to have appetizers for lunch and for munching throughout the day. And for dinner, I think I found something the kids will actually eat - Italian! I'm making meatballs in the crockpot for spaghetti and meatballs and will do some chicken parm for dh and I. Garlic bread and broccoli to round out the meal. Not fancy, but I don't want to make a ham that the girls won't eat.

No clue on new years eve, but we've been invited to a new years day brunch.

No idea who will be here for dinner Christmas besides my mom but Christmas morning David will make us sausage gravy and biscuits, probably later in the morning so we will have a early dinner of ham, lima beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rolls and then banana pudding and cookies for dessert.

No idea what we will do for New Years either...

Christmas Eve will be at my moms house, as usual. we will have a variety of lunch meats, cheeses, and breads. Olives, pickles crackers, cheese ball and mom is going to make a ham to slice up as well. Dad asked for cocktail weenies so we will have a crockpot of those too.

I have no idea for Christmas Day. . . . I would like to make some kind of casserole or something that we can throw in the oven once the opening of presents is over and we are just laying around enjoying the day.

This Sunday my BFF and her family are coming up on Sunday to spend the day and do our Chrismtas. My other friend Cathy and her family may come, IF they do, then us girls will bake cookies and other yummies. If she can't make it because of her husband, then for just us and Shannon we will do appitizers :)

Our Christmas traditions include fresh baked croissants with sliced deli ham & turkey & assorted cheeses, dinner is prime rib with twice baked potatoes. NYE we make individual homemade pizzas with tons of toppings to choose from. Not sure what Christmas eve will be...maybe appetizers & finger foods after church?

Gus, my kids, would run for the hills if I put lima beans on a holiday table.

no idea. I'm in charge of the veggie tray for the K Christmas on Saturday. Easy enough.
