I WAS getting the words from a "learn a new word every day" calendar I have, but when you wanted a harder word, I asked a co-worker who is an actress and used to be on a soap opera filmed in New York City for an obscure or obsolete word, she gave me that one. She said the director of the soap opera always told her she was the only Alogoteric in the whole cast. I guess it really WAS obsolete or obscure! =)
Normally I don't. but when my husband , his mum and my British friend who is a linguist couldn't figure out it, we googled and google came up blank. Nor any other search engine would give me or my friend what this meant, we got curious.
So, Cara.... you're always the Early Bird, eh? I wish I was like that... I am usually always running late... wonder if there's a word for that? Probably so....
Oh, and I forgot to mention this... Hanna, Sweetie, you not supposed look them up in a dictionary or google them on the internet, that ruins the fun of guessing what the word means!
Well, Hanna, you DID say to make them harder, right? LOL
Maybe that word is only used in certain peoples neck of the woods... Oh well... it does mean one who is chronically early, so I think Tracy won the WOTD today!
You got me this time, this word can't be google nor exist in the 4 English dictionaries we have and none of us have heard it, not even my British mother in law.
My grandmother used to use a word that sounded like that to describe my father. He is always early everywhere he goes. She'd laugh and say that's her aloger... something or other son. I haven't heard it in years.

I'm going to guess that considering most of us native English speakers don't know the majority of Daisy's WOTD, we won't get one right, Hanna.
Well it was good one, I like it.
I could give you some cockney rhyming slang and see if you can figure out what it means.
I only did that my dear when we drew a blank.

Where do you get your words of the day?
YAY me. I have no intention of ever using the word, unless it's to jab at my dad.
