I do that menu thing Susan and it is so helpful! It saves us like $50 a week!

Those are some good Goals Susan!

I think I need to try and play out a menu. I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow so now is the perfect time.

I make a menu on and off. It helps me a lot at the grocery too. It helps with overspending, because I would buy something because "it looks good", but then it usually ends up in the food donation bag because I end up not using it.

Plus if I throw it all out there and have you ladies comment on it, I feel more accountable and might actually achieve it all.
Plus I'm OCD about making lists for EVERYTHING! lol Natalie has become quite the list maker to! :/ lol

Oh, I'm a list maker too. Right now on my desk, I have a list of Menu Ideas to go over with the boys. A grocery list that stems off of the menu, PLUS I found a blank calendar online for the month and it has big enough spots to put our meals on it. . . . . . LOL Look what you started Susan!

Susan - here is the calendar that I bought. I don't think they have an online version, but I got this for half price at a calendar store at the mall. It was only $7.50.

I agree that the menu planning makes a big difference for us. I do it every week and I go online and check out my store specials first. For example, chicken sausage and chicken thighs are on sale this week at my Whole Foods, so I will buy those in bulk and add them into the meal plan for this week and then have some in the freezer for another week. And I'll add some cheap vegetarian meals to that to round out the week. I also only plan 4 or 5 meals and we have leftovers for the rest of the dinners. Lunches are pretty much the same every week.

I have a whiteboard magneted to my fridge, and I post my meals for the week on it.

Susan, those are great goals!

I am the most un-organized person in the world. I have good intentions but usually always run around like a chicken with his head cut off. It surely would have come in handy today when I went grocery shopping and spent wayyyyyyy too much. Didn't have a clue what I wanted for dinners.

Gaye, congrats on retiring in 3 months!! I'm sure you're counting down the clock.
