New on the black market....

I heard on the radio this morning that the newest item on the black market is.........

Can you believe it?  Stealing these bright orange bottles and then selling it in the parking lot?

People are calling in to the radio personnel saying that they do not use ANYTHING but Tide... and both of the dj's only use Tide.  I am not so particular about my detergent as I am about my fabric softener.... now, if they start selling my Downey with the pink cap on the black market, I just might do it... lol.

I use Purex Linen and Lillies and almost never use fabric softener.  But I don't have grubby kids' football and baseball uniforms to wash.  If I did, I would buy Tide specifically for that job.  Laundry comes out of the dryer soft enough to satisfy me, and I am sensitive to smells.

Welcome to the boards Ladyingrn! Would you mind sharing your recipe for laundry detergent with us?

Thanks for the welcome! I saw this post on the main page, and it looked interesting. I gave my mom a batch of the detergent to take home yesterday to see if it worked for her since she was interested when she saw me making it. Hey there... welcome to Q&E! My son-in-law's mother makes hers too. Sometimes she gives some to my daughter to use ... they both like it. I should do that sometime... hope you stick around so we can get to know you better!

I make my own laundry detergent.  I know it's not for everyone, but it works fine for us.  I just made a batch yesterday, and it will last us at least three months (and the cost is probably less than $2 per batch).

I usually use whatever's on sale or sometimes even some off-brand. I have to admit though, that I have been buying Gain (original scent) dish soap.... it smells like clean laundry when I do the dishes! I love it.

I always do too.   I don't use Tide because I can't afford it.   Era, Gain, or Arm and Hammer for me.
