Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Good Morning ladies! Im working tonight, but I got up early to eat some cereal, and will be going back to bed shortly for a nap lol. For now Im playing online with a nice warm cat on my lap.

The weather network is predicting 10-14 inches of snow for us, starting overnight.... and for tomorrow it says 12-16 inches.... so really they have no clue lol

Gaye- Roo Ben is so cute!! enjoy your time with him!

Sandy- stay safe today! Hope your electricity stays on!

Tracy- Im not a huge fish eater... its usally too fishy tasting to me.... Only way I usually like it is deep fried, which defeats the purpose lol. I do liked canned tuna...  oohh I might have that for lunch!

Shelly- have fun relaxing this morning!

Sorry I haven't posted too much in this thread.... but I do read it and when I catch up reading, it seems like something happens so I cannot post or I start it and then have to abandon it and by the time I get back, everything I've written is old...  sorry if this is really long...

Mel:  To answer your question....  I am not "officially" banned from the Radiothong (just in case some lurkers are reading this, it is a Radiothon for Children's Miracle Network .. one time I typed "Radiothong" and got all kinds of good natured ribbing for it so now I call it Radiothong all the time.. lol).... I have a a major attitude or as I guess y'all have put it... I have hurt feelings SO I am not calling over there, I am not going over there to get any food that was donated for the workers to eat, I am not even walking NEAR where they are broadcasting it!!!! (that will teach them, right??? LOL)

Two years ago, our Radiothong moved from being held in April to being held in February and only 1 week before our big "Nurses Ball."  At that time, I was SUPER involved with both events and the decision was to take me off Radiothon and let me concentrate only on the Ball since it was the bigger fundraiser.  I understood their reasoning even though i assured them I would be able to do both.  I did not throw a major fit because I did not want ton end up doing a half-ass job on both events instead of doing a good job on one of the events so I didn't say much about the decision.

But.... since nobody but me had ever done that job, I had to train the 2 volunteers they they chose to do it (i loved that they needed 2 volunteers to do the job of lil' ol' me!)... anyway I typed up every procedure, I met with both of them 3 different times to go over all the procedures, I practiced what to do with them, I had them run credit card charges on our machine and then showed them how to fix it if they made an error.... I was trying to help everything run smoothly.  Which... in hindsight... maybe I shouldn't have done all that so they would have needed me more... yeah...

So... move to 2012...the date of our Benefit Ball conflicted with a HUGE MAJOR happening in the hospital (nobody thought to consult us regarding the date) so a lot of people would not be able to make it including tons of docs (who are big donors), sooooo we moved the Ball to April.... PLENTY of time for me to work on both the Radiothon in February and the Ball in April.... well... but they decided to, AGAIN, NOT have me work at the Radiothon.... which totally royally pissed me off!

I was SO ticked off about it, that I am sad to report, it clouded my happiness when Presley was born.  She was born one of the days the Radiothon was broadcasting from the Lobby and I was seething the whole time because they did NOT want me to take the day off BECAUSE OF THE RADIOTHON but I was NOT WORKING AT THE RADIOTHON...I was working in my office doing stuff that I do every day!  I did change my hours of work though so I could be down there in the waiting room while they did Amber's c-section and see her and the baby after she was born.  I worked from 12 noon to 8:30 pm.

I have been pretty quiet about it this year .... I have not said too much about it... Last year I really gave them heck though.... I still am pissed that they have never given me a REASON why they continue to have a 2 volunteers (one is a board member but still a volunteer) do the job I had been doing for the last 10 years!  I would feel a lot better if SOMEONE would just give me a valid reason.  Did I make a huge mistake? Did I offend someone? Did I stink? Was I rude?  Did someone think I wasn't working as hard as I should be?  Did someone not like how I did something?  I have a ton of questions but nobody will give me an answer and that is the worst part for me. I hate it!!

Okay, I am done griping.... sorry for the vent...

Mel... I bet you regret asking now, don't you?  LOL

I am going to go ahead and post this.... because once again, I started this post at 6:45 am and it's almost 9:00 am now!  I got to work early today because we are having a winter storm... not the kind Sandy is getting but it's already snowed 5 inches and it's supposed to continue until noon.

Daisy I wouldn't step foot any where near the Radiothong if I was you either.  I would make believe it wasn't even happening.

Hello Ladies:-)

Sandy hope you don't get too much snow!

Daisy I think I would avoid the Radiothong too! How rude!

Mel the headaches just get worse, LOL but the reason for them changes:-) The morning sickness for me went away in the 2nd trimester, sometimes it can go the entire pregnancy. Try preggo pops. Or ginger tea.

Nothing big happening here today. Evey had school, we are going to have wings and watch a movie tonight.  Exciting times.

My brother-in-law's radio program got axed after 30 years on the air, and replaced by an online version.  He doesn't even own a computer.  Anyway, he streams at 2 PM Eastern time, Fridays.  And no, I didn't listen today.  Seldom do, actually.

The point being, here is a current picture of him.  He looks like my ^DH^ a lot, but he is thinner.  He has lived longer than any of the LeBoutillier men, most of whom never saw 65.  He will be 72 next month!  Sure doesn't look it, does he?

Glad you got a snow day, Mel.   Nasty winter weather scares me.   Probably because I'm not used to it.   I had the headaches from caffeine withdrawl.   I went caffeine free with both pregnancies.  Maybe if you look that up you may get some ideas.   Maybe you already have, not sure.   Sometimes mine got so bad I had a few drinks of caffeine just to relieve the headache.   Queasiness?   Sorry, I'm no help.   I got a little nauseous in the evenings but it didn't last long and it wasn't terrible.

Daisy, I hope radniothing is easy for you to avoid.   I wouldn't want to look at it either.

Gaye, not a chance I'd guess BIL at 72.   He looks sharp.

I am off to the store to find a closet organizer for DD.   Her softball stuff is taking over her dresser and when laundry is caught up the drawers are so full they won't close.   I am sure I can find something in Lowe's to put in her closet floor and more the softball stuff there.

And then I am off to help my friend scrub her nasty rental house.   Then to work and then to DS's basketball game.

Sandy, I hope you are safe and have electricty.  I looked up the local news in Sandy's area.   Looks like they are expecting 20" when it's over this afternoon.   All roads in CT are closed.   And I saw an article that said 1,000's are without power.
