Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Morning Ladies-

Well I had a stress filled work day yesterday.  It was so bad John actually came home from work early and we went to PF Chang's for dinner.  Sure hope today is better.

Any way who else is envious of Tracy's two beach trips coming up - one end of this month to Florida and the other in June for her birthday to Key West.

You're all welcome to join at any time ;-)   Jeff and I would welcome nightlife company.   The B&B we are staying in has a nightly happy hour.   I have been all over the Trip Advisor reviews and they almost all talk about how everyone there gets to know each other and become friends.   One said you can always find another couple to eat with or go to a bar with.   We like that idea.

We have done almost every touristy thing they offer in Key West.   The last time we were there we bought Tour Passports which, for a discounted price, got us into all their tourist attractions.   Our agenda this trip is to do nothing.   We will snorkel, or out on a catamaran that offers snorkeling one day.   And we want to rent bikes.   We will laze by the pool, ride bikes around town, kick around the wharf, or lay around the beach.  Other than that, our only expense will be dinners/drinks.  We’ll be at a B&B, so breakfast is covered.   There is a fridge in our room so we’ll pack in sandwich stuff and then go out at nights.   Happy hour is 1.5 hours of open bar and “light snacks.”

Our B&B is on the Key West ghost tour.   The tour comes up on our porch and talks about the house ghosts.   You all know I am all over that.   We said we may do that one night, it’s the only thing that wasn’t in our tour passport in 2009.

I went to bed with a prediction of 1-3" of snow.   Woke up to a dusting.   And a snow day from school.   I live 3 roads away from a main drag.   My road, and the more frequently traveled side street I live near, both have asphalt showing on them.   Neither of those roads are plowed or salted.  I can see grass in my yard.   Yet we have a snow day.   Now the last day of school has been pushed to the Tuesday after Memorial Day.   We get a 3-day weekend, then have to come back for one day.   Stupid.   I guess the only upside is that without this snow day, the last day of school would be the Friday of the 3-day weekend.   That means we'd be working graduations on that Friday night and all day Saturday.   This way we at least get the weekend off.

Because of the snow day I slept in.   I started my workout at 6:00 instead of 4:50.   I feel sloven.

Now I have to find something to do at work all day.

Susan, the window was finally replaced last Monday. So happy to be able to see out of that window again.

Sandy, I hope you have a better day today. That was nice of your dh to take you out to eat.

Tracy, I was sure we'd have a snow day too but was surprised Kelsie went. We got a dusting. It is going to be a cold one today but it will warm up in the 70's by the weekend. Woo hoo!

Mel, do they know what is causing the toothache? That is crazy you have to suffer through it.

Waiting on the car to warm up so I can head in.  We got around 6".  Most schools and daycares are closed today.

Sandy - I hope your day is better today!

Tracy - I am jealous of the trips...did I mention I can conform to suit case size!  lol  Key West sounds awesome!  My idea of vacation is relaxing by the pool or lake and doing nothing.  The idea of Disney has never appealed to me because running all day doesn't sound like vacation to me.

Well I better get my cereal finished up and get going...I'm expecting my 30 minute drive to be 60 today.

Hello ladies! I have been MIA for a few days, sorry.  I was having trouble getting logged in.

Gaye ~ your grand daughter is very pretty!!! The ad was a little 80ish to me too Tracy.

Tracy ~ You stink!! LOL I know you all will have a wonderful time.

Mel ~ Hope your toothache subsides.

We got about an inch of snow here, no delay or closing for us.

Monday, I tookthe boys to the dr. Waylon had lab work, before school. Went to advance auto for P to pick up some parts for his trucks. Waylon's corrdinator called me and asked how Waylon was doing, so I knew something was up. I said he is fine, tired alot, but ok.  She said his labswere totally outof whack and I needed to take him to the local ER and get some fluids with Sodium Barcarb in it. So I waited until he got in from school and we left here at 4:00, got there and in the ER at 5:00 we got home at 2:00 Tuesday morning.  I kept him home from school, he didnt get up until noon. But he got 2 runs of bicarb and his numbers came back up!!

Yesterday I didn't do much of anything. I was tired. I cleaned and did some laundry. Today I am headed to the grocery store with mom andthen home tomake dinner and wait for the boys :)

Shelly, how is P feeling?  Any better?   Has he had the scope?   I know he got a diagnosis, but I can't remember if that was from the scope or if he still has to have the scope done.   If he's better, when does he go back to work?

I'm glad W's whacked levels had an easy fix.

Shelly, what does bicarb mean? Glad Waylon's fixed up and no hospital stay.  How is P feeling?

I had an eye exam today for the first time since I was pregnant with Baylie. I just can't read things anymore. Small print is a big blur. I've always had great vision but everyone told me my age would creep up on me. I'm sticking with reading glasses for now. I don't want to have to deal with contacts or glasses full time. She told me eventually I would.

P is feeling better, but still not good. He hasn't thrown up very much the past week or so.  He did not have the scope, the doctor told him he didn't need it once they got the diagnosis. He has a guy that should call him this week to start back to work on Monday. If he gets that job, he will be working close to home so that means he will be home every night :)

Bicarb is Sodium Bicarbonate: Sodium bicarbonate is an antacid that neutralizes stomach acid. Sodium bicarbonate is used to relieve heartburn and indigestion. Sodium bicarbonate is also used to make the blood and urine less acidic in certain conditions.  Sodium bicarbonate may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.  Read more at http://www.drugs.com/mtm/sodium-bicarbonate.html#kGVC8saIPKJLFfHC.99

When they do his blood work they take 3 or 4 vials of blood and check soooo many things. This is just oneof the ones that was out of whack on Monday.  His hemoglobin was also down to 7.6 - a normal persons blood count is in the 12-15 range. Waylon's usually is in the mid 8 range.  His body just doesn't make enough. . . . but they didn't want to do anything about it at the moment.  I got a call today that they want repeat labs in the morning to see how his levels are, they they are staying up or not.
