Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

We are football fans. Since the Vikings lost last week I don't really care who is playing now. We still watch but it takes the excitement away.

You guys all sound like you're doing great with the exercise and counting calories. Wish I could find the motivation.

It has rained for days. It's been gray and ugly. Where is the sun?

I like oatmeal too.  That recipe looks interesting and easy.

So we weighed in at work this morning.  I weighed in first thing while the guys were in their meeting.  Then I weighed in once everyone was out and weighing...1 1/2 lb higher.  GRRR.  Darn cheap butt scale.  Everyone's weights are fluctuating.

Holy Toledo has it been busy this morning!  The phones won’t stop!

Over the weekend I had a scratchy throat.  Still a little irritated this morning, but not as bad.  I’m all plugged up too.  I hope that’s as bad as it gets.  Brooks has had some stomach flu of some sort.  Friday she woke up at 5 and threw up from 5-8.  Couldn’t even keep water down.  No fever, just vomiting.  DH said she ate lunch fine, no problems and was back to her old self.  Saturday night she woke up about midnight and ran to the bathroom.  No fever.  She said he tummy hurt a little bit yesterday, but it didn’t stop her from eating or playing.  She’s back at school today.

We’ve watched some football.  Was pulling for the Colts (lost), Broncos (lost), so we’re not going to pull for a team…seems to work against us!  lol   Although I would love to watch Ray Lewis crash and burn (sorry, Gus!).

I've been busy!!!  Last week I had appointments all week. Ugggggg Things are going well for us. Jeffrey is over his bought of Strep Throat and luickly Waylon hasn't caught it. Sally's ears are doing much better.

My floor is over half down now. And I can't wait for it to be finished. I need a new TV stand and I am looking into a new couch, a sectional. It will take up 2 walls, BUT it has 2 recliners on it and there will be enough seating space for everyone.

I went to the dentist on Tuesday. I have 3 teeth that need filled and one that needs a crown since I grind them day and night LOL

I've missed alot, I'll have to go back and read and catch up!

I am dying for a sectional.   Can't afford it thought.   Can't even afford a new couch.   Mine is old and SO uncomfortable.   Jealous of the new furniture, Shelly.

And you have got to get back here, Shelly.   We miss you.   Losing a former Q&E girl has really rocked me.   Once a Q&E, always a Q&E.

I have got to get cooking.   I held true to the diet today and I'm starving.   I just had a snack.   A whopping .2 ounces of sunflower seeds.

Oh, Jeff blew off his Vegas trip.  Never saw that coming.   He decided it just didn't feel right so he wasn't going.  He had already paid for the flight, with the gun store planning on reimbursing him.   So he called Delta and was able to roll that paid flight into one of his yearly (through his Skymiles AmEx card) buy one get one free flights.  So since he already paid for the one flight, he said I could be his free flyer for summer and we keep our Skymiles.   Yay!   And I am pretty sure we decided where to go; waiting for a call back to book a Key West B&B.

Yay Shelly is back!  We missed you!

Tracy - wow and wow on Jeff blowing off the Vegas trip.  Probably realized it just wouldn't be the same without you!  Key West sounds a lot more exciting to me too!

Anywhere sounds exciting !

I laid down for three hours and feel a lil better ...

Glad Shelly is back and I been watching your floor progress on FB - makes a huge difference huh ? I love my wood floors.

Susan is it a good newer scale ? I got a very nice one at Aldis a few months back and I love it. It was only 10 bucks. Hang in there - you are eating better and it takes a little time.

I am in shock about Carla...

I do hope Gaye is better !

Hopefully it continues... David is getting on my last nerve, Aunt Flo and my husband are not getting along, everything he does makes me mad... Come on next Tuesday!!!

I'm shocked about Carla, too.  Gosh! I have a child older than Carla.

Thank you for asking; the flu is better.  Tamiflu does work, and is probably worth the $106.  The physical maladies are gone, but the mood could use a good swift kick in the pants.  I have a tough time getting through January, anyway.

Seasonal depression gets me every year too.   It gets worse the older I get.   I just hate it; the days of gloom, no sunlight, being cold, ugly scenary, etc.   I hate it all.

Susan, I have no baseline for what the scale said when I started modifying my eating and exercise.  I did weigh in on the nurse's scales at work last Tuesday.   I plan on doing the same today.   Yes, I still have portion control issues but what I am chosing to eat is better for me.   And my exercise has really picked up.   That said, I will not be shocked if my number is the same or higher.   I'll let you know.

I did get up at 4:50 today and did Jillian Michaels.   My biggest issue with that before work is how hot I get.  I am dripping sweat at the end of that DVD.  My have done that my whole life.   My face gets beat red and takes hours to return to normal.   So I feel like I have clown cheeks going into work.

That Carla story is still on my mind.   Just so sad.

Morning Ladies -

Gaye glad the flu is making it's way out of your system.  Sorry you are feeling sad.  Isn't January the month you lost your DH?

Tracy & Susan - sometimes your body will hold onto the weight and not let go because it thinks you are trying to starve it - LOL.  Actually when you exercise a lot before you start to drop weight your body can hold onto water weight.  Up your water intake till your kidneys are doing the backstroke.

I'm also still in shock over the news about Carla.  Just goes to show we never know when someone is going to leave us.  Or even when we are going to be leaving.  Makes me want to set some new priorities today.
