Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Uggh Renee, your hours sound like hell to me! Prayers being sent. I'm hoping Maggie gets her license back too.

Daisy, tons of boxes=tons of unpacking. Good luck! I hope you can start getting used to your new office soon. I hate change too!

When I got online this morning I did have the thought that Renee had already been at work for 4.5 hours.   Big ugh on that.

This has been a 3 day work week, but it has crept by.  I am so glad I don't have to work tonight.   My school does play tonight, but it's an away game for us so it's another sergeants to worry about.

If it stays dry this weekend I need to get on my roof and take down the Christmas lights.   The snow is almost melted here, but it's still cold.   The sun has been shining hard this week so despite the cold the snow is mostly gone.  Snowmen and deeper banks are still there.

You got it Renee. Maggie getting her license back would be great. And good-night. Your schedule is nightmarish to me. Daisy, that office looks nice but yes, too boxy. Good luck with the Nurse's Ball. And Lucy Coe Jones Quartermaine, etc wasn't a nurse either but she ran the Nurse's Ball.

I am here but only for a few- gotta get up at midnight and go in at 2...ugh

Never fails after a break- I should be used to it!

But wanted to say Hi =)..

And I need two Q&E Prayers- I can always count on ya'll..

(So sorry about your brother gus- I really hope one day he wakes up!)

Maggie goes tomorrow to try and get her licence back- just think about her at 2 tomorrow.. Her BF is going with her-the downfall of us working on the same line- they can't let both of us off when we are busy.

And Mrs Johnson is not doing good- this is Kays MIL - she is in a nursing home and has been sleeping since Monday- that was the day her husband died 17 years ago. Her vitals are good- just doesn't want to wake up=(.. Her daughter is due home around 3 am - along with another daughter and son in law.. Kay thinks she is wating for them to get here .... Just say a quick one plz..

And Sandy your Dad is in my Prayers..

Thanks Ladies !  You are the BEST!!

Yes, Sandy.... TONS of boxes... ugh!  The only good thing I can say about all that unpacking is that it sure makes the day go by fast.

Sandy, I don't know if I've told you yet (I've been meaning to) but I'm sorry to hear about your dad falling and being hospitalized and I hope he will be discharged soon... it's no fun for him or for your family who feel the pull to go visit every night.  You do deserve a night away so don't feel guilty.  I always feel bad when people come to see me in the hospital.... like I'm taking them away from their regularly scheduled life.

Office looks nice Daisy but you sure do have one heck of a lot of boxes don't you - lol!

Well my Dad is still in the hospital and I have no idea when he might be getting out.  He is doing pretty good so I might beg off and not go see him tonight.  I had committed to go with two Zumba instructors to a class with a new instructor to help with an evaluation of her performance.  I took her class on Saturday and opened my big mouth about a couple of things so they asked me to go with them tonight to her class.  I really do want to go but I also feel bad not going to see my Dad tonight.  I have gone every day since Sunday so I think he will be "ok" with me not showing up.  I know my brother will go.  Oh the guilt trip never ends.

Good Morning, gals!

Guss, i can definitely understand what an adjustment David being home now is for you.  My sister's husband used to travel a lot for work and he would be gone for only weeks at a time and it was a big adjustment for them when he came home.  She was used to being in charge when he was gone and it was hard for her to change it when he came home.

Mel, I meant to tell you how awesome you are doing with your weight loss!  You rock!!

I am on day 2 of being in my new office.  It is really different!  But, I am notoriously a change-hater so it is going to take some getting used to.  I do like my new desk... lots of space... way more than my old desk.  I do have lots of work to catch up on though... and that on top of unpacking the crap I have in boxes stacked up all around me is going to keep me busy for quite some time.

Our Radiothong is February 7 & 8.... just about a month... fun fun...

Then our "Nurses Ball" as Tracy likes to call it.... (although nurses have NO part in planning any of it... lol) is March 2nd.  More fun fun....

This begins our busy busy busy time... NOT a good time to have to  unpack all of this!

I took a few pictures yesterday and this morning...you can tell it was still dark outside this morning by the windows.

My desk area is behind that blue/gray wall - this is looking from the doorway to Maria's office.  That door is my supervisor's office.... I have to be really careful what I say and who I'm on the phone with now as he can hear everything if he wants to... ugh!

This is my view when I am sitting at my desk on the computer.  The doorway out into the hall and building entrance.  We've got stuff out there that either needs to be picked up and stored in the warehouse or tossed away.

This is the other side of the blue/gray cubical wall.... it is where Miss Neg would have sat but now any student interns or volunteers will be temporarily stationed there while they are serving their hours.  Don't you love our lovely box decor?

This is my work area...

A view of my work area from the doorway... I love that shelf deal in front of my desk... hides a multitude of sins... lol.

Another area with stacks of boxes... Maria's office door is to the left of the boxes.

It was a bright day yesterday... the sun reflecting off the snow outside the window.  You may be able to see the parking ramp through the window... between our building and the ramp is the helicopter landing area.  You should see the snow when one of those things land or take off!

I took this one yesterday which is definitely too dark to see the inside but you can see the snow and my view a lot better.

Sorry that I cannot remember all that I've read and wanted to comment on.... it has taken me at least an hour to complete this post since I have to keep minimizing it when someone walks in.  I think if you really wanted to, you could see what's on my screen if you were standing in front of my desk.  I am really going to have to do something about that!!!!

Cara, you should go. I love that man.

When I first come to Q&E, I can't see the Babble thread. It's off of first page too. I have to log in to get it to re-enter the top 10 and show on the front page. I have selected the "float this thread to the top" option, but again, I have to log in to get that selection to register. Frustrating.

I have used my phone to post quite a bit over the years. My feeds still looks the same and it does let me post most of the time. My paragraph breaks rarely show and I have to use Quick Reply as Reply won't work. But, I can't open anything but the threads on the main page. So weird how that view changes when I am logged in versus not logged in. Even the recipes showing in folders are different. Hopefully now that all the holidays are over we will see real progress on the tech issues.

Gus I think I too would have huge adjustment issues in having another adult around after going it alone for so long. And the big block of time off for David is great, but I can see where that is just adding to the readjustment. At least it's just Evey living in the basement now though instead of D's friend.

And how about your brother? Wow. Surely this is hitting bottom and your mom sees it. He needs to serve some real time. Your poor grandmothers. This is awful for them.

I have my rescheduled grand opening today. Yuck. I hope he isn't running too late. This office is notoriously slow.
