Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Morning Ladies -

Well I did make it to the "Y" yesterday and they were open.  There were only 3 of us in the class plus the instructor.  Usually the Sunday morning class has between 20 - 26 people.  The water zumba class had about half the regulars also.  But I did get my work out in.

When I got home I found out my Dad was in the hospital.  When my brother got up yesterday morning he went down stairs and found my Dad on the floor near his bed.  He had taken a fall (they have no idea how or when) and they couldn't get him up.  They took him to the emergency room.  His blood pressure was very low and he was not getting much oxygen.  He was alert and in good spirits but had no clue how or why he fell.  Have no idea how long he was on the floor either.  Any way John and I headed up to the hospital.  He was still in emergency but they had decided to admit him for observation.  My brother and sister-in-law had already been with him for 4 hours so they went home and John and I waited with him till they got him into a room.  That was another 4 1/2 hours later!  We came home and I made something light for dinner and that was it.  Waiting to find out this morning if they will be keeping him another day or not.  Two weeks before Christmas my FIL was admitted to the hospital for observation for high blood pressure.  Just about a week after Christmas and my Dad is admitted to the hospital for observation for low blood pressure.  Sigh!

Where is everyone?

This thread was buried for me.   I just don't get this new format.   How is this thread not in the top 10 in the Chatter folder?   I did the "float this thread to the top" thing but I have no idea what that really means, what it does, or if it'll show up right.

I have found that when I first access the page, and of course I am not logged in although I log in and select to remain that way, the feed looks different than when I am logged in.   When I do get logged in, what shows in my top 10 threads is different than when I am not showing up as logged in.

Well, I am on day 10 of 11 on vacation.   And of course I am already dreading going back to work.   I am glad it'll just be a 3 day week.   And no overtime.   I have 2 events the next week, but none the first 3 days I am back.

Jeff and I are really looking at where to go this summer.   Key West or Vegas?   We have the free flight vouchers.   Key West is off-season, so the room is cheap, but as he pointed out the food can be pricey and everything we want to do is expensive.   Vegas has some deals on rooms, we can eat cheaper, and we can do stuff we have never done before, like the Hoover Dam tour.  We could stay at a place with a great pool and save money by just lying in the sun most of the days.  I have also thought about doing someplace we have never been, but I am terrible at thinking of things.  New Orleans?

I have to take the kids to the denist today so they have to wake up soon.   DD up before 9:30 has only happened on Christmas Day the whole break.

I can be lazy the rest of the day. - Tracy, I've never heard you say that before...good for you!

Just trying to get motivated this morning.  They are saying another 2-4" of snow tonight.  Glad we're staying in.  I have a small list of things to get done and then maybe a short nap too!

Sledding won. We met some friends and then went back to their house for grilled cheese and hot chocolate. DD and I went to the grocery. Now we are home. The boy stayed at his buddy's house. I'm glad my house is clean. I can be lazy the rest of the day.

I hope you got your workout in, Sandy. I have been such a slug this week. When I have a bad cold I never want to exercise. Once I am back to work this cold should have passed. I am buckling down and getting into a routine.

No new snow here. They were calling for another 1.5" but we got nothing. I was happy.

My great under the bed adventure was a huge success. I threw away 2 garbage bags full of shoes. Some I haven't worn in eons. And they were in terrible shape. I got the floor vacuumed and mopped. It looks so much better (not that I peer under my bed that often) and it smelled great in there when I went to bed last night.

DD has a friend over. They are camped out on my TV room floor. I have no idea when they went to bed.

We are supposed to go see The Hobbit today. My sister has been wanting to go for a while now and we can never seem to work it out. I don't really want to go today. I want to take the kids sledding. We'll see what we end up with.

Morning Ladies -

We got about a foot of snow last night.  It has stopped and the road in front of our home looks ok.  Not sure if the "Y" is going to open 1st thing this morning or not.  I really would like to get a work out in but if I wait till 8 am when they are suppose to be open to call to find out if they are open I won't have time to drive there and make the class.  Of course I could just drive ther and hope they are open and the instructor shows up.  Sigh.

Had a fun day today.... went out for family breakfast, came home, took nap, woke up, watched Presley, went to pick up donuts, Luke & Presley came back over, I cooked tacos & then played games.... I was a floater for the 2 teams playing Outburst.... I won.... but I also lost!  LOL

I am zoning, ready to hit the hay.... my sister has had a migraine all day today, I hate when she gets those.

Tacos were a hit though....

Sorry I haven't commented on anyone's posts.... I read them, hit reply then Amber & Nick showed up to pick up the kids and now I cannot remember.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday!

We got an inch, maybe 1.5".   It's off the roads now, just wet and slushy.   It's still in the grass though.

The kids and I have worked all day at my parent's house cleaning out their huge closet.   They are getting new insulation.   They have the old fiberglass kind.   It's falling out.   So there was fiberglass everywhere.   DD and I came home feeling like we were itching out of our skin.   So we have both had showers.  We are now going to clean out from under my bed.

Tracy, how much snow did you get? Ray has been praying for snow for us. I don't see it happening.

Homemade pizza sounds good.

Happily, everyone slept like a log last night, and I feel much better today.  I shared that story because it IS funny.  Not funny at the time, but funny to tell.

It is clear and cold here.  All the snow is gone, and the dogs are willing to go outside again.  The two boys visited through the fence with the yappy little Yorkie behind us and actually ran around a bit.  Anya is grumpy and feeling her age, so she took care of business, came right in, and curled up on her new bed and blanket.

Amy and Mark come home tomorrow and will come get Pre, who misses his Mommy.  Pray for a safe drive; it took them 12 hours to get there, much of the way on icy roads.  Under all this stuff is Amy, announcing to the world that she DID ski, and did not break anything:

 I did it
