Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Well, I guess I didn't find any shortcuts by asking how everyone came to this thread... LOL... Oh well, like Tracy said, it is totally worth it... and don't think that I don't come here to read, I do... but I will be able to more often when I get the battery and electrical cord for my laptop and do not have to borrow Ashleigh's.  It will not work at all without being plugged in so with a new battery AND a new plug, I should be in business... until my laptop decides to play out ... which I hope is NOT soon!!!  LOL

It was freezing here this morning when I had my hubby drop me off at work at 5:30 am!  Plus, he did not go warm up his truck so it was cold for a while.  I don't know what I was thinking... I did not wear a coat because the coat I usually wear I gave to my mom because she said she liked it Thursday.

It looks like starting Wednesday it will warm up here... but rainy most the whole week!  I have been waiting to go sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes to an hour each day so I won't burn to a crisp in Texas when we go but it has been cold or rainy every day so I just may go sign up at the fake & bake.  I won't get my full month but that's okay... I don't want to be snow-white down there at the wedding or when I'm swimming!

Renee, when my hubby got all 6 of his wisdom teeth taken out (he had 2 behind 1 of them and one was growing up into his sinus cavity), I cooked him mashed potatoes & gravy, sometimes just milk gravy by itself and lots of McDonald's shakes.  At least now they have tons of smoothies out there you can buy or recipes you can make.. back in 1985 the shakes at McDonalds was about all I could buy for him.  He did love my milk gravy though... lol.

We had a good day celebrating Mother's Day Saturday at Sagano.  Forgot to take any pics of the chef cooking up our food though.

My mom went home to take a nap and Amber, Nick & Presley went home to give Presley a nap.  Luke came with us and my hubby and Ashleigh both took a nap.  I wished Luke would have taken a nap too but he didn't... so therefore I didn't... lol.  They all came back around 4:00 and we played 2 games of Trivial Pursuit (my mom's favorite game) and had dessert.

Amber brought a cheesecake sampler and a huge platter of cookies they got at Sam's (whatever was left they were taking to Blu-Ray Fest) and Ashleigh had made a lemon pie.  That pie was delicious and fairly easy.

I am sure your cake was awesome, Tracy... it's the taste that counts anyway!

I think Amber found the lemon pie recipe on Pinterest... all you did was mix 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk with 2/3 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice and pour it into a graham cracker pie crust and top with whipped cream.  Refrigerate it for a few hours so it sets up.  The hardest part was squeezing that lemon juice.  She used one of these deals...

I had no idea these things were vintage until I just tried to find a picture... lol.  I bought this at a flea market over 30 years ago for a quarter.

Poor Ashleigh though.... she had squeezed almost a whole bag of lemons and then spilled the juice all over the counter and herself.  So, my hubby had to go back to the store for more lemons... LOL.   I told her next time just use bottled juice!  But, I do have to admit, that pie was delish and not sure it would have been so good with bottled juice.

Well, I better get back to work... I am on the countdown for our Telethon on June 2nd and then I leave for TX on June 5th... I will probably be working 18 hour days the 3rd & 4th trying to get all that telethon stuff done before I leave.  So... I CANNOT be behind on June 2nd or else I will NOT get everything from the telethon done.  I am working on donations that arrived in our office on April 30th.... TOO FAR BEHIND!!!  I am supposed to process the donation and send the thank you letters within 3 days of receiving them.  I haven't met that goal since January....and some people get ticked if they don't get their thank you letter right away.  Ugh... but, it's not my fault they laid my co-worker off... even though the atmosphere is WAY better here, I am way behind because of it.  Oh well, i'm still glad to have a job!

Hope everyone has a great Monday... sorry that I only talked about myself and did not address anyone else... I have been thinking about y'all though.... a lot.

Shelly, I feel ya on the Mother's Day.  I told DH I want a few simple things.  To not yell at the girls, no laundry, no cleaning, and no cooking.  Well my nap was disrupted because 2 girls were fighting, I washed 2 loads of laundry yesterday, cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast, and had to make the girls bed time snack last night.  None of it was a major deal, because I do it every other single day of the year, BUT DAMN, I asked for ONE day "off".

I've had a small, thumping headache for about 5 days, my right side of my mouth is killing me (has been for about a month and the dentist appt is next Thursday!) and I haven't slept through the night in about a week.  I feel like I could start crying at any moment and I hope I don't snap on anyone.  Also I have something to do every night this week.  Nothing big, but still something.  And DH has to pick up the girls from the sitter on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and I KNOW I will hear about it SEVERAL times this week and probably next.

Yeah, I'm not upset that I didn't get a present, I mean if I want something,I get it.But it hurts that no one even acknowleged me, or went out of their waytobe nice. Oh well, no use in having a pity party.

I did get quite a few things checked off of my to do list so far today. I still have a couple heavy things in the dryer that didn't dry first round, so I need to get them out when they get done. But I got my phone calls done, Waylon's food ordered and an appointment to go tour the private school we want to send the boysto next year. Got all ofthe other laundry put away,  dishes done, trash to the curb, and the bed made.

Where is Sandy this morning??? Wonder how her MIL is doing after surgery???

Sorry your Mother's Days weren't all that fun, Shelly and Susan.   Fighting kids are the worst.   Mine are champs at it.   They just didn't happen to do too much of it yesterday.

So, did Waylon make it all day at school?   And yeah, private school?   What's up with that?

Mel, I hope you found some cute shoes.

I could have sworn Daisy posted in here earlier this morning, and that it was a long post.   I didn't have time to comment on any of it, and only posted on Shelly working on a hose today.   I just couldn't pass that one up.   I wanted to go back and comment on Daisy's post and it's disappeared.   Weird.

And in the ever-fluctuating softball world, we have now added a game for this week.   One of the rain-outs, one that the tried and tried to get made up but we kept having snafus with it, has finally been resheduled.   Yay!   So, three games this week.

How weird, but so very typical for this software.   I looked and looked for the post I just knew Daisy wrote.   I knew there was a cute picture of Presley in it.   I went back and forth between pages 28 and 29.   It just wasn't there.   I posted and low and behold, there is the post from Daisy, right where it should have been the first time I was looking for it.   ARG!   This format is terrible.

I don't remember needing soft food for long after I had my wisdom teeth out.   Not so long that it was an issue at all.   But maybe I did and just don't remember.

That is a super cute picture, Daisy.   Sounds like a fun day.   Neither of my kids would nap at age 2 either.   They refused.  It made for long days.

Yoo Hoo Sandy ??

Where is she ?

Cute picture Daisy =).. What is a nap ?? If I ever nap ( maybe once a year) I wake up a bear - better not to nap at all!

Yikes on the bad Moms Days Shelly and Susan ...  And yes what is up with a private school ?? They are costly!

Susan - I hear ya on the 'tracy busy' week- that was me last week- two trips to Ann Arbor and the other two days I had Mollys kids- then Friday rolled along and I had some me time- well till Casey called and asked me to watch Chase, one hr after work ( and I drive a half hr) ..- she never ask- I can't say no.. so every night was filled.

I can relate.

And tonight I have three here- Maggie is meeting the person buying her truck about 45 mins from here- they are meeting half way. Dominic is fussy but finally fell asleep..

Leftovers are in the crock-

John is still working...

There is a Christian school about 20 mins. from here, less once we (if we) move and get a new house,  I refuse to send Waylon to the Middle/High school. Grade 5-12 in one school, is just ASKING for trouble.   2 or 3 weeks ago, our mail carriers 15 year old nephew whom she had custody of, came home from school and hung himself. He was homosexual and bullied endlessly.  Some of the kids threw food at him in the cafeteria, name calling etc.  It was so sad. The kids are awful!!!  Plus the kids only get 3 bathroom passes a semester, ummmm NO  WAY  can Waylon make it!   I don't know anyone out there to trust that he will get his medicines. It's just a bad situation.  So, mom and I are going to check the school out. Philip is all for it. Scott, not so much.

Tracy ~ I did the same thing with Daiy's post, I was scrolling through and saw a picture and thought it was Daisy and Presley, when I went back to look for it, it was no where to be found! WTH???? After all of this time it is still a total mess!!!  Good thing I like you all and hang around LOL
