Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

I haven't been able to log in for a couple of days, and could not even get on to post the roll call on the board I CL.  Just want you all to know I have tried to read and keep up with all of you every day, and I haven't jumped ship.

When I do log in, it is like iVillage doesn't recognize my keystrokes or something, and I can't type more than a few words, going back to fix letters that didn't "take."  Too frustrating for words.

I'm alive and well and busy, busy, busy packing up my house for the flooring installation next Monday.

I was going to comment on how I don't have any missing posts, BUT I do.  The last person to post is Gaye, but the last one I can read is Sandy.  I wonder if this will post or be lost in space forever.

Sandy I'm glad your MIL is doing well but sad about your dad.  Is the skin cancer spreading more?  I'm sorry about that.

I am not sure what is going on with my mom and that cyst/tumor.  Ashleigh took her for her day after shot Friday and said that they told her the ultrasound showed the chemo was working very good.  But they never mentioned the other thing.  So, I am going to call to see if they will talk to me.  I have gotten to know the nurse, Dee, pretty well after sitting with my mom for 21 hours now (total of the 3 sessions I've taken her to).  So, I think she will talk to me.  I just need to remember to do it.  When I get to work I am so stinking busy I don't remember to do anything!

Tracy, I agree with you about the public schools having way more to offer special needs kids.  My sister took Kendra out of a Christian school so she could put her in public school and avail themselves of their resources for her.  It was a good thing for Kendra.  Shortly thereafter, they took Erica out too and she went to public school and got involved in the "Dolls" dance troupe at Dulles HIgh School in Sugar Land.  I totally agree also that there are good kids and bad kids in ALL schools.  Like I said earlier, some of the kids my girls were in school with had been permanently expelled from public schools.  One of Ashleigh's underclassmates was found to have a 'hit list' in his locker one year.

I only gave a couple of the dress code requirements, Tracy... but all of your sound like theirs with the exception of shorts... no shorts at all... and the girls all had to wear dresses or skirts every day.  No pants at all.

Shelly, I wasn't trying to talk you out of sending the boys to a Christian School... just wanted you to be prepared.

Hello ladies:-)

Sandy sorry your MIL and Dad aren't doing well! I will keep them in my prayers, and you too that has to be rough...

Tracy that dress code is serious business, that is crazy!

Daisy I would talk to the nurse too, hopefully the other thing was just a cyst so they aren't breezing over it maybe???

Well to weigh in on the Christian school thing, Evey goes to a private Christian school for pre-school now. The price is decent, and there is no dress code(I mean they are 2 and a half to 4 year old kids in the school) and there are tons of school. I think for me the big thing would be the amount of students in the school, and the price, I think I remember you posting once about a very small school is this the same one? Kids need to be encouraged to be social, its something that have to learn and in a super small school that just isn't possible. Plus who really has like $600 a month to spend on tuition in this economy ya know? Evey's school is opening up a kindergarden next fall for $690 a month!!! That almost my mortgage! Anyways I think one of the big thing with bullies is that kids don't talk to their parents, it wouldn't be a big concern with me to send my kids to that school, because my kids talk to me as I am sure Waylon and Jeffrey do to you too. Its those kids who have those hands off parents who aren't involved that end up with the depression ya know? Worry about your kid being bullied BEFORE they are bullied will just give you gray hair:-) While its sad, it seems to me like somebody had their head in the sand for their kid to be so depressed they were suicidal and they didn't realize it, ya know????

Anyways so its been gorgeous here for the past couple days and is supposed to stay nice all week! Evey has her program at school and end of year stuff Friday, her last day is Monday though. So yeah I actually have to take care of my own kid for like a month, don't that suck? LOL Garrett is pulling up to stand and in all kinds of trouble because well he can be....And I have just been hanging out, started calorie counting again today, and worked out, I need to I get in a fund otherwise....

So last night I put in a claim because my kindle will only charge in one position, and since I had the insurance from Office Max on it I put in a claim because its "free". So they will send me a box and label I sent them my kindle and then they send me a gift card for the amount I paid for my kindle I think. The cool thing? I bought it when it was new last year for $199 and now the new thing is the Kindle Fire HD and thats $199 and the regular Kindle fire is $159 or something so I think I get a "free" upgrade:-) LOL I was so excited when I realized this last night I called David and blabbed to him about it not thinking it was almost 11 there...whoops!

David is still in Va, he will be home like the 24th of May his school was cut short because they don't do some field thing anymore so yeah....

Only have a min but have to agree with Guss -

your kid hangs himself and you had no clue he was depressed- there are signs..

My 11 year old neice didn't like bullying so she started an anti bullying group!  they have went to girls scout groups and talked and to PTO meetings-

I have to run ....

Happy Hump Day!

I am going to be doing an Bullying support group with our school social worker next year.   She and I are excited about it.   We both work year round (rare in the school system) and are going to plan it out this summer.

I think I do get so passionate about the school stuff because I am part of the system.  Guss nailed a lot of what I am thinking.   The school is NOT taking your kids to raise.   I am in the group that gets the blame over and over and over for stuff that has nothing to do with school.   "My kid got beat up in the park last Saturday, what are you doing about it?"    "Girls are posting nasty stuff on Facebook about my kid, what are you doing about it?"   I get it all day long.   The school cannot be responsible for all things kid-related just because the kids go to school together.   I have yet to work in the school where issues knowingly went on and the school just ignored it.   We do everything we can do to solve known issues.   There are mediations, mediations with court sanctioned mediators, discipline consequences, court terms, schedule changes, escorts, etc.   We might not solve all the world's issues, but we sure do what we can with what we know about.   And with a high success rate at that.  I am a part of the solution and I take my work very seriously, therefore I take it personal.

Shelly, move here.   I'll take care of your boys.

And I agree with Renee, there is almost always more to the story.

Sandy emailed me as I was writing this.   Not Authorized to Post over and over again this morning.   I am SO over our girls not being able to be here.

Daisy, I hope you do get to talk to the nurse and that the cyst is nothing.

Guss, whoo-hoo on David coming home a little earlier than expected.

Supposed to be gorgeous here today, I should take the kids on a walk, that would be my exercise AND give us something to do...kill two birds with one stone? Could be fun!

Our schools have no "enforecement" here, like Tracy. I would feel a little better if they did.  I mean the 3 schools in the county and there is one part time nurse for all of them!! I mean I know her and am friends with her and if I had a problem, she would go and check on Waylon i am sure, but still.  It is a big thing, and I am not taking the decission lightly, but I have to do what I feel is best for them. I know you all are only giving your "input" and I really appreciate the friendship we have and that we can weight in on each others decissions :)

Mel ~ Sooooo happy to hear you are now a citizen of Canada!!!!! And Wooo hooo on the shopping. And as for feeling the baby move. .. . I LOVE that feeling!!!!!

Saw the grandbaby of a friend today and she was soooooo precious. Perfect little round head with like inch and a hlaf long brown hair, less then a month old!!!! AGGGGGG makes me ALMOST want another one LOL

Boys had a 2 hour delay this morning and that always throws my morning routine off, so I didn't get on here earlier.

Enjoy your evening!!!
