Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Count me in on the hand-washing, too - and hand sanitizer at school. I don't know that we have had a huge number of flu cases at school, but I know several adults have been flattened by it.... including a co-workers husband who vomited etc for a couple days, then started coughing so hard that he threw out his back. He got sick the last day of school before break and wasn't back on his feet until January 7th. Sick the entire break.

Has anyone else gotten Amber alerts on their cell phone yet? Happened for me for the first time today, and the electronic alert sound was like the one at the beginning of the Emergency Broadcast Network announcements they have on the radio - and it was LOUD! So I looked it up, and apparently it started in April and almost everyone will get wireless emergency alerts on their phones for natural disasters, Amber alerts, etc. It is not actually a text, so even if you don't have a text plan you would get them if you have a compatible phone. And is geographical, so you only get ones relevent to where you live.  We got an Emergency Winter Storm alert awhile back, and I could not figure out why, or how it wound up on my phone. I think the storm must have been in the Cascades, so not really close, but useful if  traveling over the pass, I guess. Now I know the source. And the Amber alert is for an 8 year old girl taken by her father during a domestic dispute. She has been missing for two days now. :-(

Hey Cara - I think I have that confirmation now - Mel's step mum's dream - So all I am going to say for now - and it is still a little early  is -

Oh Boy & Oh Girl Mel!!!!!!!

Gaye sorry you got hit with the flu bug.  I did hear like Daisy said this one isn't covered with the flu shot that is out there this time. It is a nasty one too!

Tracy I did get an Alex & Ani bracelet.  I have been looking at them and asked for one for Christmas.  John said he was overwhelmed with all the choices so he didn't get me one.  My Dad had given me cash for my present so I got this one -

Good Morning ladies!

Twins sounds kinda scary! like Tracy said, fun and chaotic! I guess I will find out soon enough!

Told the pharmacist at work last night that the drug I was on last cycle worked... I meant she would have figured it out, why I hadnt gone back for a refill... Plus its safe to tell her, she cant blab because of patient confidentiality!

Daisy- Yes DH had a lump on his upper arm.... its a low dose of radiation, for 10 days.... so the doc doesnt think he will get any side effects from it.

Thats a cute bracelet Sandy!

Tracy- you asked how Im feeling.... so far just tired, and really really hungry! sometimes a little dizzy.... it will be a miracle if I lose anything at WW on tuesday!

Gaye- I hope you are feeling better soon!

I got called into work early yesterday, and for an hour and a half I was walking around the store putting away groceries, and tidying up.... did some shopping after work.... didnt have time to do any wii.... and I got in 13,000 steps! that has to count for something! lol

That is better than no steps or exercise, Mel.   Good job.

Jeff and I had fun last night.   I thought I totally blew my diet at that seafood buffet, but I entered in what I ate, using honest portions, and I was only 192 calories over.   Not horrendous.   It was cheat day for lunch at work and I ate my Lean Cuisine instead, knowing I was pigging out last night.   I was happy with myself.

I took $20 for slots and came home $20 down.   Oh well, we had fun.

Off to get DD up for softball.

Well, we did get there considerably later than we had planned....

Off to do my Jillian Michaels DVD.  I wish I could go out and run.   But I don't like leaving DS home alone that long.   If the girl was here I'd go.   It's gorgeous out there.   I shopped this morning in jeans and a t-shirt.

The media around here has the flu worked into a frenzy.  Two little kids died after visiting ER facilities in two different hospitals, being sent home with Zyrtec, and not tested for flu.  People are scurrying madly to get their flu shots this late in the season, and most providers are out of the vaccine.  And the truth is - the flu we are coming down with was not included in that vaccine.  The media, however, continues creating panic.

Congrats, Mel, and prayers for a successful outcome this time.

Sandy, love the bracelet.

That flu scares me ! We have had 4 deaths from it in Michigan - infants/children... Scarey!  And in yesterdays a baby died that was just born on Christmas day.  Not sure if there is a connection.

Hope you feel better Gaye!

When I got Dominic home from the funeral home visit I stripped him and wiped him down- sprayed Lysol on his car seat.

Congrats to MEL ! And I hope Sandys is right on her prediction=)..  I know a gal due with twin girls -due in Feb.

Tracy sounds like you are doing great ! I wonder how many steps I do a day- I want to find out.. I walk and walk and walk some more- we work in the back corner of the building- i pack the parts from two different lines and we do 1200 a day- I pick up 5 at a time so thats 240 times I walk back and forth just there...

OK I am trying to find a recipe- are the pages after what is showing just GONE ?
