Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Most of our grandparents didn't have weight problems.  They just worked hard and had fewer food choices than we do.  We shouldn't HAVE to join a gym to stay in shape; that wasn't God's plan. My doctor says we all SIT too much, and could make a big difference in our health by just getting up!

I've been a pig over the holidays, but I weighed 110 at the doctor's office yesterday morning in all my clothes and my shoes.  Of course, I had consumed only three pieces of toast, several sodas, and a can of chicken soup since Thursday AM.  Not the kind of weight loss program I would have chosen, but this flu got the job done.

Starting to have some interest in food again.  Thinking I'll make a meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans tomorrow night and take most of it to Amy and the boys Monday afternoon.  All I lack is a pound of ground beef.  I can mix in one of the half-pound packages of ground turkey or ground pork I already have.  It is a warmish day but it is raining, and I don't think it would make sense for me to go out today.  Maybe I'll feel like going to church tomorrow and will pick it up on my way home.

Renee, I struggled with that earlier. On Firefox I can only see what's showing in each folder. If I click to see the other threads I get a blank page. I can see them if using IE. But I can't log in using IE. Frustrating. It may not be God's plan for us to exercise, but I sure feel better when I do it. Even when I was thin. And yes, my grandparents on both sides were overweight. Except one grandfather. Even my great grandmother was heavy most of her life.

Susan- wow 3 teeth! how much does the tooth fairy pay at your house?

Well twins sound fun( and hard work, expensive and tiring lol) I would be getting it all done in one pregnancy!

Just checking out some baby stuff on amazon, and looking at cloth diapers.

I wonder how Gus is doing!

Afternoon ladies:-)

Gaye glad you are feeling a little better:-)

Mel congrats! Prayers for a healthy pregnancy. Twins could be fun, but think of how much work that would be...one baby at a time is so much easier!! LOL

Tracy are you using My Fitness Pal? I need to get on the weight loss band wagon when David goes back to work...

We all got the flu here a couple weeks ago, Evey and David had the vaccine so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Luckily Garrett didn't catch it, I don't know how but he didn't.

David and I went out on a date yesterday, Mom watched the kids, we had a good time. Got lunch, went bday shopping for Evey(she will be 3 next saturday, 3!!!) then we hit up a happy hour and came home. It was fun. Evey had a good time with Mom, Garrett got upset at the end, Mom said he was eating his bottle and looked at her and started crying so she soothed him and he would calm down and then look at her and start crying again. She said she thinks he missed me, LOL. Rotten little boy.

So my genius of a brother didn't show up to court for an old case on Thursday and is now a wanted man. The detective working the case for my grandma found her camera at a pawn shop, and he had pawned it using his own name....he also pawned one of her rings but they had sold it already so she won't get it back. Ugh he is such a jerk, and a dumb one to boot.

Anyways I need to get up from here and get my laundry switched over to the dryer.

Exciting stuff:-)

OK.  Generation clarification, here.  My grandparents were born in the 1870's.  My father's father ran the family's retail business, but he belonged to a bicycle club, rode everywhere, and dropped dead on a ride in New Jersey in 1907.  My mother's father was a ship carpenter, finishing out the inside of cruise ships, and then working on ships for WWI.  Their women worked hard, too, without modern conveniences in the home.  Scrubbing the family laundry on a washboard does sound like an upper-arm workout to me.  LOL

Morning Ladies -

It is sooooooo foggy outside right now.  Can hardly see your hand in front of your face BUT it will not stop me from getting to the "Y" for my 2 class workouts.  I always feel so much better once I am done.  I may moan and groan about going but I am proud of myself for doing it in the end.

Visited with my Dad yesterday morning and we had a nice quite time just the two of us.  He is doing pretty good.  John is doing well too and so far so are my in-laws.  Fingers crossed it stays that way for a while!

Guss your "date" sounds like just what the doctor ordered.  I love you took the time out to enjoy each other.  As far as Garret missing you, well maybe you should plan on leaving him with Grandma more often so he won't miss you so much - LOL! Oh and Tracy please allow me for taking the question for you - yes Tracy is using MyFitnessPal.  She is the one that introduced me to it two years ago.  Susan is also on and we can encouage each other along the way.  Come join the party.  It is addictive I tell you!

Well I am running late - talk to you all later!

Sandy is right, I am a My Fitness Pal addict.   It does better than anything I have seen to hold you accountable.   I overeat.   No other way to put it.  When I see it laid out- how much difference one pat of butter makes for example I find it easier to skip that butter.

I haven't used flavored coffee creamers in about a year.   One day it just tasted too overpoweringly sweet to me.  I gagged my way through the rest of that bottle of creamer (sugar free hazelnut) and never bought it again.  I have been using plain creamer with sugar.   I don't use much sugar, but it's there.   Looking at the calorie intake for the sugar on MFP has made me slowly train myself to drink it black.   I am getting there.  I am already using about 1/2 a teaspoon for a large insulated mug.   I have miles to go on this healthier eating kick, but I'm not backing down on it.

I need to go get the kids moving towards church.   It's pouring rain here and they aren't going to want to go.   But we'll be there.   I'd rather be at a water aerobics class with Sandy.

I am with you on laying out there for you to look at and being accountable Tracy.  I started My Fitness Pal two years ago.  I made New Year's goal to drop some pounds and get more exercise in.  I knew I needed somehting to help me with my portion control and wasted calorie intake.  This works for me!  I don't call it a diet, just taking control of me.
