Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

That is a cute picture.

So scary, Missy.   And BOO on the window taking a week to get here.

It's snowing here.   I am talking more snow than we have seen in years.   I hope the roads are okay.   I need to get groceries.   And it's supposed to snow all weekend.   They say 4" by Sunday night.   That's huge for us.

My friend's squatter tenant surprised no one by not moving out yesterday.   He called her and told he he needed 2 more days.   He is now saying Sunday at noon.   We'll see.

Daisy, I'd love a basement update too.  That is just such a hassle and long hours of hard work, not to mention the cost.   I feel for you.

Guss, I am so happy Evey is liking school.   My kids both loved preschool.  It's supposed to be fun so I'm happy it is fun for her.   By the end of his run, DS was begging to stay for "stended day" (extended day) so he could stay and play with his friends.   My dad picked him up at noon and he loved it that he could leave Daniel there when he had appointments and Daniel loved it.

Morning Ladies -

Mel I am a sappy animal lover too!

Guss I'm glad Evelyn is liking school.  It's good for all of you!  I am guessing she will love being away from you as much as you from her for the few hours.  Any updates on Germany?

Tracy I don't get in extra exercise every day and if I over eat I don't beat myself up over it either.  It all balances out.  No sense burning yourself out to the point you don't want to exercise at all.  There is a young gal at work who dropped a lot of weight.  She was watching everything she put into her mouth and exercised daily - personal trainer, got into running, joined a gym etc.  She just burned out on it all and has now put back all the weight she lost plus.  Not a good thing.

Well I need to get going.  Lots to tackle today and tonight we are going out to dinner for my in-laws 65th wedding anniversary celebration.

Ugh, wrote a long post and lost it.   I haven't been having to copy them lately.   A new tech glitch.... sigh.

I have run errands all day.   KY doesn't do snow well so the roads are terrible.   It's a mess out there.   The kids are sledding with friends.   I have been cleaning.   I have no interest in rewriting all I wrote.   Sorry.

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans for supper.

Tracy you have snow and your kids are sledding?  I live in New England and we do not have any snow for sledding.  It is cold, but no snow.  Ok by me!

Yup, Sandy, about 3 inches here. I hate it. But it'll warm up this week. It's supposed to be 45° with rain tomorrow. But for now, it's snowing again. UGH!

At least the snow helps me get exercise. In addition to doing a Jillian Michaels DVD with my DD, I also shoveled the driveway and sidewalks twice (it kept snowing) and I cleaned the house. That invovled vacuuming, dusing, mopping, changing all the sheets, and scrubbing the bathroom.

I had just DD last night. We had a good time. We watched the UK ball game then watched When Harry Met Sally. I also was in the mood to bake yesterday so I made cookies. I made Oatmeal Craisin ones. I used whole grain flour and where the recipe called for 1 1/2 cups sugar (both white and brown) I cut both of the amounts by almost half. I can't tell a difference at all. They are really good.

After church I am going to meet my friend at her house to see if the squatter has left yet. I drove by the house yesterday. No evidence of any moving at all.

The Super Bowl is today??

I guess I am back to writing and pasting in Word since I lost a big post yesterday.   I had copied it from the Q&E page.  And when I went to paste it, there was nothing there.  And yup, I lost it again when I posted just now.  I posted and the page said "cannot be found."

Okay, I find it just a little funny that the spammer hit CMEvelyn's Super Bowl recipe post. Do the spammers know that CM means "iVillage employee encouraging people to click away from the board and into the main site"? Is the spammer taunting iVillage? Probably not, but it amuses me to think so....

I guess I need to go report that one.

I made blueberry muffins for breakfast.   DD has been bugging me too forever.  I have been on a huge whole grain flour kick and used that in them.   They were really good.

Off to dress for church.

Morning Ladies -

Everyone sleeping in today?  So anyone else having a hard time getting their head around the fact it is February?  I am not a big fan of the month of January and usually it drags on but not this year.  It flew by for me.  Ground Hog saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter, or so the saying goes.  If the next 6 weeks go by as fast as the last 6 weeks did for me by Friday spring should be here - yay!!!!!

Any thing good going on this week?  We went out Saturday night for my in-laws 65th anniversary (which is on the 7th) and Wednesday is John's birthday and I am taking him out for a romantic dinner.  Other than that - just work for me.

It sure was a quiet weekend around here.   I hate it that so many of our regulars have become spotty.  We used to have about 10 of us that we could count on to post every day.   We aren't even close to that now.

Our roads are fine from all the snow we got this weekend.  But our schools are on a 1-hour delay.   SO stupid.   The rural counties around us aren't out or delayed.   I swear it's all about the social media.   The idiots post on the FB page, beating them up no matter what the call is.   Today some people are on there complaining we should be out.   I live on a side street, about 4 streets removed from a main drag.   My road is totally clear.   Jeff is way out in the county.  He said it's totally clear in his area.   I just don't get this call.   Oh, well.

I did boring cleaning yesterday like changing out the shower curtain liner, ironing, and cleaning the laundry room.   I made Spicy Cheeseburger Soup for supper.   That was a dietary no-no.   Wow, did I overshoot my calorie goal.   That won't happen again for a while.   And I got up and worked out this morning.

Back at it today.   I have softball for DD every night this week (typical) and then tomorrow night I have a hair appointment.   Thursday night overtime is back.   Ditto Saturday afternoon.   But the OT is winding down, thankfully.   DS should hear about baseball soon, like in the next two weeks, and he’ll be practicing again too.   Yes, signs of spring.
