Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

The new definition of insanity: Clicking "keep me logged in" every time you log in to iVillage, knowing that you are going to have to log in again the next time you visit the site.

I did wear rubber gloves to clean that cest pool of a house. And I wore old gross clothes. And a hat to cover my hair. We discussed masks but neither of us had one.

I have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned all weekend. I need a break from the weekend. I came home from the sty and finsihed laundry, vacuumed, mopped (DD did that part), and then I took all the globes down from my ceiling fans and washed them. I washed the fan blades and bases. I washed baseboards and door trim. I washed doors. I washed walls. And then I went and got a pedicure because I was bone tired and deserved it.

After that I made the pork roast, cleaned the kitchen and now I'm here. Getting ready to pop popcorn and flop out on the couch with the kids. I see a night of Honey Boo Boo and Gyspy Sisters in our furture. Shelly, you near any of these WV gypsy towns? I l know where Martinsburg is so not really on that one, but what about Ripley or Princeton?

I'm telling you, if nothing else, helping my friend out has for sure inspired me to deep clean my own house. Next weekend I think all the cabinets and the fridge are being attacked. I bet your kitchen smells good, Renee.

I have got to get my fat butt in gear. I feel myself slipping on my healthier eating plan. I am not going to beat myself up over it. Food is important to me and I really enjoy it. Subsiding on carrots and celery just isn't for me. But I am going to be back at it today. I have already worked out this morning. When I was doing the arm exercises my arms and shoulders were screaming at me. I was sure feeling all that scrubbing I was doing all weekend.

Big week here for us. DD has high school softball tryouts on Thursday. She has worked her butt off since October to make this team. It all comes down to that tryout. She is the youngest one trying out. But, if they are looking for a great attitude, a hard worker, with dedication and no drama, that's my girl. She can also play the game too. She asked me if she could stay home from school on Friday if she didn't make the team because she wouldn't be able to stop crying. How sad is that? And then this Saturday we have baseball tryouts for DS. He trys out to be on a team in a more competative division. We keep hearing he's a lock, but you never know. If they both make these teams, I am done. DD will have Sundays off, but he won't. We will have baseball or softball 7 days a week. And that will be from next week until about August for him and September for her. She is year round, 6 days a week from this point on. I think there may be a week or two off in the fall and then 2 weeks at Christmas. But that's all.

Oops, it's time to go get DS up.

Morning Ladies -

One good thing about being in "lock-down" was my house sure got a good cleaning.  Between cleaning the house and shoveling snow I didn't miss my exercise classes that's for sure!  Guess I need to venture out to the office today.  We have a stupid rule - use your own discretion on driving into the office in bad weather or on leaving early. If you stay home you use a vacation day or don't get paid.  Oh and if you stay home and the big guys show up and see you aren't there you get the lecture.  We have an office full of ladies.  The two owners are men and you know they wouldn't let their wives or daughters drive in the nasty weather but expect all of us to show up.  IDIOTS!  We had a rule that said if the Governor told all non-essential employees to stay home we stayed home.  Well that got changed after a recent storm we had when the state closed but the roads were not bad.  Big guys were ticked when more than half the office didn't show up.  Any one who didn't show got a talking to when they did come in the next day.  I was smart I went into the office late and left early.  I was a shining star that day - rofl!  It's a bit of a mix or rain and crap turing over to just plain rain which means lots of water on the roads.  I the roads flood over I may not make it in or out.  Sigh!

Tracy I could not live on carrot and celery sticks either thus the reason I try to exercise.  I love food and I love to eat!  Hope your DD makes the team and I would let her stay home on Friday if she doesn't.  If she should not make it this year there is always next year.  Just like Hank in the Budweiser commercial.  Remember that one?  It's the one where Hank doesn't make the team and is told maybe next year - the dog takes him under his wing and gets him in shape so next year rolls around and low and behold Hank makes the team - then the dog and the horse "high-five".  I love that commercial!

Good morning ladies.

Oh Tracy.  *gag*  We were at a friends hosue over the weekend and John used a back bathroom that he's pretty sure had not been cleaned since they lived there (3 years).  He peed outside the rest of the night!

I was over on my calorie count Thurs, Fri, and Sat.  Yesterday I did good and exercised double.  Paid off this morning.  I lost 1.5 lbs since last week.  5.5 lbs total so far!  Waiting on one more weigh-in to see what this week's totals are.

Okay, once again, I have a lot to catch up on... PLUS I still have my notes from Friday, so forgive me if I'm writing about old news... and probably for the length of this post too...

Mel... I hope the morning sickness and headaches get better soon.  My morning sickness stopped around 12 weeks.  The pic of the dog wondering where to poop is hysterical!  Glad you got a day off work...did you happen to get paid?  Just wondering... I'm thinking not...

Tracy...If you didn't find anything for RA's closet, try IKEA if you have one around.  Ashleigh loves their closet organization stuff... but our IKEA is over an hour away.

Guss.. I have something you should show David...

I seen this the other day and cracked up.... and it really is true... for me anyway....

Missy - yikes on that window breaking and the tornado.... scary stuff!!  Especially this time of year!  I had a question though... what is a "horsemare?"    I hope Hunter's dad doesn't get regular visitation... that would be awful... I hope the judge does the right thing for the baby... not baby's daddy!

Shelly, your floors look great... i am sure it's exciting.  I think P had a relapse because he probably did too much once he started feeling better.  My hubby does that all the time.

Sandy - LOL @ Vincent Plum Bail Bonds... that wa sa good one.  I'm glad you're starting to dig out... i don't mind shoveling snow too much either... well, not the sidewalk & porch, that is... the driveway is another thing.  Ugh... unless I have help, I have to take breaks doing that!

Tracy - You are a great friend for helping to clean that house!  My parents had rental homes the whole time I was growing up and I hated going to clean them after someone moved out... especially the people that were evicted.  One lady put all her baby's diapers in the bathtub... don't ask me why she did not throw them in the trash.... but that place stunk to high-heaven when we went to clean it... that bathtub was almost up to the faucet in dirty diapers.  That was the worst one we had to clean.... that toilet in your friends house is just obnoxious.... who lives like that???  Looks like he sh*t all over the toilet bowl.... did he not sit on the seat??  Oh my gosh... ugh!!  That helped with my hunger this morning..... lol.

Gaye, Roo Ben is a cutie.... love the take on the name Reuben!  Can't remember.. did someone pick him up or do you still have him?  Your BIL does NOT look 72..... not at all!

Susan, I cannot believe your baby is 7 years old!  She is such a cutie... and yes, I know how momma is always behind the scenes making daddy look like a hero!  Been there....

Renee, yay for Maggie!!  She should be soooo proud of herself!!  I know you are too.  Dominic is such a cutie pie..... sorry you didn't win at the Casino.... or on the numbers apparently..... my ex co-worker has been on a huge roll this year so far... I bet she's won over $2,000 total.  She's getting on my nerves though always calling/texting/e-mailing me of her winnings.... lol.  I know darn well she's spent at least that much and probably more over the past year or so so she's not really "ahead" but oh well... she still says that if she ever does win the big one, she'll take care of me too!

Guss, yes, Luke was tongue tied too... so was Amber when she was born.  Both of theirs was thick so they had to be put under to have them cut & stitched but most the time the doctor can do it in the office.  Not too many have to be admitted... just depends on the thickness... also, your dr may not even think it is necessary but if I were you, I'd have it done.... mainly because it may cause him to talk funny...

Tracy, did you say we cann't bump posts anymore???  That is ridiculous!!!

Guss:  Wanted to let you know that you are not alone on the cleaning trash out of your hubby's lunchbox.  Mine does the very same thing!!  I ask him all the time... "WHAT, THEY DON'T HAVE TRASH CANS AT YOUR WORK????"  I also get ticked when he leaves food in the containers I send him leftovers in.  He is finally cleaning them out pretty good because I told him if he did it again I was going to stop making him a lunch at all!

Basement Update:  As of this morning, we still had 6 fans and 2 big dehumidifiers (along with our dehumidifier) down there running... they've been running 24/7 since last Monday.  Plus, we were told Wednesday evening that we had to keep our heat on 73 in order for the machines to do their work properly... they said us keeping it at 62 was causing big delays in the drying out process and it could cause more stuff to be ruined.  I didn't get it... but we suffered through the whole week-end with the heat practically sufficating us... it felt like a wall of heat whenever we walked in the house.  I know it sounds crazy but we were sweating... even the grandkids were sweating Saturday night when they were over... they had their thick winter footed pajamas on and both of them had sweat on their heads!  We took Luke's completely off because he was running around and I just unzipped Presley's.  We also had the ceiling fan running in the living room.. It was crazy!

I am not looking forward to our next bill..... the gas bill will be higher because we had to raise the thermostat and our electric bill will be out of sight because those 6 fans & 2 dehumidifiers have been going 24/7 for a week.  I wish our insurance company would pay THAT bill too....

We have not heard much back from the insurance company... but they are in contact with the restoration people.  I hope we will hear some more news tonight when they stop by to check things out... it should be dry down there now...

We've been doing laundry since Friday evening when a guy came over to fix the laundry pump.  The restoration people put all the wet clothes in plastic bags and tied them up so we've been having to go through those bags and wash what we can and throw out what is ruined.  It is a stinky, dirty job but NOT AS DIRTY AS WHAT TRACY DID... so I don't feel so bad.... LOL

Hello ladies!!! Happy Monday morning!  Finally things are getting back to normal around here. Both boys went to school and P left for work at 4:30 this morning. I have windows open and am cleaning the living room up.  Our handiman is on his way over to lay some more flooring down for us.  I bought 3 more boxes yesterday and I have one box left andI think 2 pieces. So, I should have my kitchen and hallway done!!!! Yippeeee

I had a great day out yesterday, something I really needed.  We met at 2:00 at David's Bridal and tried on dresses. I went ahead and ordered mine, it takes 16 weeks for them to come in, what is up with that???  Luickly my dress was $99 and we got $20 off because Shannon bought her dress there so I only spent like $83 for my dress!!! I was very happy about it!  I don't like the dress, but I don't think I would like any of them to tellyou the truth LOL

Then I went to Home Depot and bought the flooring (it is only $0.68 a square foot, so for the 3 boxes I spent $54!!!) We met back up at Habachi's the Japanese Steak House, and man o man was it yummy!!!  Then we hit up the Ulta Cosmetics store, and I indulged in some new nailpolishes and make up and a new bottle of perfume.

Today I have been doing laundry and sweeping and straightening up the living room.  I'm not doing too much since Ronald will be here shortly to work on putting more flooring down.  Mom and I have to meet some FB YS ladies at 11, just down the road from us. And then the boys have dental appointments at 2 and 3, so I will pick them up from school about 1:30.

Well, I should get back to my cleaning.  Have a wonderful day!!!!

Tracy - I said, "hey dad I ordered flowers and paid for them. Go pick them up and be the hero." lol She loved them and hugged him for a good minute straight. He just smiled ear to ear.

Tracy ~ I forgot to say that Ripley is about an hour from me.  They have a bigger Wal-Mart that we go to when we need a bigger variety of things. My friend Shannon lives in Jackson County, which is the county Ripley is in, she is about 25 mins from the "heart" of town.
