Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

DH and I are getting our hair cut tonight.  When we were driving to IN last week my office called and was wondering if we (DH and the girls too) wanted to go to a contractor's meeting.  We accepted.  The cool thing is, is that my boss is getting contractor of the year (he's retiring this year too) and its at The Great Wolf Lodge.  DH and I will be going to the meeting with dinner, drinks, and the awards ceremony and the girls will be with another families kids in the hotel room and then the next day we'll be at the water park all day.  The best part...we didn't drop a dime for it!  We haven't told the girls yet.  They will be so excited!  http://www.greatwolf.com/mason/waterpark/overview

Shelly - I'm glad they got P straightened out.  Are they going to remove your cyst?  My niece had tubes last year and my, o, my what a night and day difference!  Also with the insomnia...I started exercising at the beginning of the year and quit drinking soda.  I haven't had any problems, not one night, falling asleep.  Now I have had clear soda 1 or 2 times, but I did TRY and drink a Sunkist on Friday and ewww, gross.  Thick, nasty syrup is really all I tasted.  I couldn't even finish it.  Anyway...

Tracy - you guys keep doing the work of 5 people and they will quickly figure out they don't need 5 people!  I guess acting sick wouldn't be worth it then!

I better get some work done!

Shelly, I can certainly see why you can't sleep. So much going on. Hope your cyst stops oozing and P starts to feel better.

Sandy, glad you got your glass tops. It's always good when they are nice.

Susan, what a fun trip that will be. The girls will be so excited!

Mel, hope you start to feel better soon. 12 months off is a great maternity leave. Wish the USA would do something about our health insurance. It stinks and just gets worse. I'm thinking with your ability to save that you will save enough for the whole 12 months. You're very good at that.

Ray's been in Vegas since Tuesday and I'm pooped. I've found out I'm terrible at helping with homework or I should say I'm no help at all. I'm ashamed to admit they are both doing math beyond my knowledge. We had to skype with Ray so he could help. I definitely would suck as a single parent. Tracy & Shelly, you guys have a tough job and I admire any single parent.

Calling for snow and sleet tomorrow night into Saturday. I want spring!!!

Susan, they will love that place.   I have never been, but have several friends that have and it sounds wonderful.  Free rocks.   That place is super expensive.

Missy, when does Ray come home?   I am zero math and science help for my kids either.   History, English, write a paper?   I'm your girl.

Ray is supposed to get in midnight tomorrow. I hope the weather doesn't delay him.

He won $200 at blackjack. We'll see if he comes home with any money though. They ate at Gordon Ramsay's steakhouse the first night. Last night wasn't too exciting....they ate someplace connected to Hard Rock hotel in the mall or something.

I found another cute pug picture for Gaye!! ( not sure about the experession on the poor dogs face though lol)

Susan- your kids are going to have so much fun!!!!

Missy- woohoo on Ray winning $200!!! I bet that steakhouse was good!!

Okay so I called my doctor to find out whats happening with this NT scan( my regular doc mentioned it when I saw him a few weeks ago)... ( which has a very short time frame it can be done in) and they said to call my obgyn.. so I did..... and she doesnt think its necessary, because Im not over the age of 35.... and also if I wanted it done, I would have to pay!( again because Im not 35) Im still getting the blood test done for that, gotta go in next week....

I only said yes to the scan, because I wasnt sure when I would have my first ultrasound.... so Im not bummed about it..  Oh and I will have another one done at 18 weeks! so another 6 ish weeks to go until we can hopefully find out the gender!

Okay time for some more food, and then going back to bed, only got up because I had to pee, and was hungry! lol

Oh Im sad.... my beloved vegemite gives me heartburn now! :(

Tracy said:

"My employer, the school system here, has moved to only 6 weeks approved off after a vaginal birth, 8-10 off for a C-Section.  I don't think that's enough at all.   I took about 10 weeks with both of my kids.   I would have been ecstatic with a year"

I am confused, Tracy - it is FEDERAL law that you are granted twelve weeks leave after the birth or adoption of a child. For both the mother AND the father. Of course, that does not guarantee pay  - just that they have to let you return to your position after 12 weeks leave.  We are not guaranteed any length of time to be actually paid in my district - you can use whatever sick leave you have, though. I had enough to have full pay for Riley. Does your district flat-out pay for 6 weeks? That would be nice for newer staff that don't have much sick leave built up.

I did state that wrong. You can only use accumulated sick days that length of time. You can stay off longer, but it'd be unpaid. They claim after 6 weeks you are no longer "sick" so you can't use sick time. It's ridiculous.

Tracy essentially the paper work of what medical care our family requires on a regular basis was submitted..now we wait til they tell us if it is available in Germany, if it is not the command(the highest ranking officer in the unit we are assigned to go to in Germany) wll deny me and the kids sponsorship(without them giving us the okay we can not go) so David can either go without us(a 2 year tour) or put in for a compassionate re-assignment, we should know in about a month if they will sponsor us or not...

Sandy I am okay with Germany some days and some days it sounds awful. It will be a GIANT pain in the butt to move there...

Mel all day sickness suck...

Missy I hope Ray is having a good time and comes home with some money, no fun being a single parent but skype does help:-)

Soooo not much going on here....

Evey had PT today and then we went out to eat.

School, and doctor for her tomorrow, me and little dude will hang out and then get her. May I will take them out to eat. I think he might be getting a tooth, you can kind of feel it but baby gums are so funny you never know...

Nothing exciting to report...:-/

Morning Ladies -

Guss you said you had nothing exciting to report?  Ummmm - I think waiting to find out where you may be heding next is pretty exciting.  I am sure any move at this point will be a pain but it is part of the package isn't it.

Well it is Friday yahoooooo!  Breaking up my work day today.  I have something to take care of 1st thing this morning and then later this afternoon.  So I am taking a 1/2 day off from work but splitting it up.  Should be interesting don't ya think?

Anyone else having a hard time getting your head around the fact today is March 1st????

March 1st?   Are you kidding?  When did that happen?   That's okay: I head south 4 weeks from today.   I better start those packing lists :-)

The Germany thing is huge.   A month is a long time to wait for news like that.   I'd be way anxious.

Nothing much else going on here.   I am super late getting going this morning.   Gotta get moving.
