Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Oh, I think soft spot inspection is on the top of the agenda, Sandy.

It is sort of depressing this time of year, starting March Madness, knowing that KY has a terrible team this year.   We’ve been to the Final Four the past 2 years, winning the whole NCAA last year.   This year we are sweating even getting in the NCAA.   I hate it when we aren’t good.   Jeff asked me who I was cheering for knowing that if UK makes it in at all we likely won’t make it past the first round.   I said “Go Michigan.”

I had a fun night last night.    Jeff came over after work and he ate supper with DD and me.   DD and I were watching our trashy shows we have on the DVR, Dance Moms, Welcome to Myrtle Manor, etc. and DD got a text from a high school senior saying she had to turn in her softball walk-out song that night (the song they play when you walk out to bat).   We had so much fun going through songs.   I Googled baseball walk-out songs and she found nothing there she liked.   I went through all my old CDs and she found nothing.   Then she looked at her brother’s Weird Al’s Greatest Hits CD and landed on his song “White and Nerdy.”   That cracks me up.   If you don’t know the song, it’s set to the tune of “Riding Dirty.”   The first line is, “They see me mowing my front lawn, I know they’re all thinking I’m so white and nerdy.”   I highly recommend playing it on YouTube.   It’s a funny song.

Then I had received an email yesterday afternoon tipping me off to DD’s kidnapping this morning.   The softball team runs a big sister program.   The younger girls don’t know who their big sister is going to be.   I don’t even know that DD knew the program existed.   They meet their big sis by a kidnapping at 6:00 this morning.   Her big sis just ran my bell and went and got her.   DD had to go as is.   They are talking her to a breakfast at one of the player’s houses.   Must be someone with a house bigger than mine.   I could fit maybe 6 of them.   DD looked a mess: sleep pants, old church camp t-shirt, hair all over the place, and her face just recently broke out badly.   She screamed when the girls pounced on her.   She is NOT a morning person.   Not even a little bit.

I asked the girls about the walk out songs.   They said RA’s made their night, said they cried laughing over it.   One girl is doing Ice, Ice, Baby which was funny too, but White and Nerdy is better.

So poor DD stayed up all night reading, because that’s what she does, and is now off to breakfast.   The older girls said it’d last until about 9:00.   Then she is going home to her dad’s house for a short while, hopefully to clean up, and then he is taking her to school to help the librarian set up the book fair.   The librarian was out with the flu most of the week so she is running behind.   DD helps her every morning before school since she is there so early with me.   After that she has softball practice.   Then she’s going to a friend’s house to spend the night.   To think 2 years ago I worried myself sick over this child and her social awkwardness, her terminal shyness, and how she didn’t seem to have a friend.   She’s having a great year.   Now I guess I start worrying about my son.   I cringe thinking about him in middle school next year.   He’s so immature and such a scatterbrain.

What a crazy fun morning for her Tracy.  I am sure she will take after her Mom in the social area.  She does have 1/2 your "jeans" remember.

Oh and I had not doubt checking out your smelly soft spot would be on the top of Jeff's "to do" list!

Cute baby boy Guss!

Tracy, what a fun morning for RA. I'm going to go listen to that song on youtube.

Kelsie has a project this weekend too. We have to make a model of one of the planets. I think she's decided on Jupiter but we will see if she changes her mind.

Mel, good luck with the cloth diapers. I didn't have the patience to try them. Your demoing chocolate philly sounds good.

Tracy - that sounds like a blast...except the getting out of bed part.  I would start swinging if someone did that to me!  I will have to look up the song.  I have the "Riding Dirty" tune stuck in my head now!  I like the Volvo commercial that uses that song.  lol

Been a crazy, busy morning.  The phone won't STOP.

And there's been a change in the weekend plans, but I'll go update there!  Woot.

I wasn't familiar with either the Weird Al or the original, so I looked them up. Holy cow are the original lyrics filthy! I am so glad Tristan doesn't like rap...... White and Nerdy is hilarious!

I cut out a coupon for Crystal Light squeeze stuff.  I haven't gotten it yet, but I will try it.

Tracy - you said your ex hasn't been to any band functions...does he make it to the softball stuff or anything else for that fact?
