Q&E Babble
Fri, 12-21-2012 - 7:34am

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

I had a very lazy night last night.   I grilled myself a ribeye.   I had that with some leftover rice from earlier in the week and a spinach salad.   I added pea pods, green pepper, celery, baby carrots, and broccoli to the spinach.   It was good.

I then caught up on shows on the DVR and did laundry.   All that's left to do today on the clothes is iron.   I loathe ironing.

I am getting ready to go help my friend paint some more on her rental house.   I was going to go to early church service but slept too long.   Oops.   I'll make it next week as it's Palm Sunday.   I'll do that for a while then come home to clean my own house.

So Gaye is just being mean rubbing it in like that!!

Renee ~ enjoy breakfast with John!

Tracy ~ How much more until the rental house is done?  How is it looking (and smelling)?

Mel ~ I could never do the cloth diapers either!

Got on the scales yesterday, I'm down 5.5 pounds.  I have a treadmill coming so I can walk, walk, walk. And I got my Jillian Michaels DVD, but haven't tried it yet.

Snowing here this morning, Big ole fat flakes!!!!As much as is coming down, if it sticked we will have a bunch later on.

Have a great day!

Tracy, I am surprised you have anything that needs ironing - I avoid buying anything that requires ironing! Do you have to iron your uniform?  And, by the way, what a great friend, helping out with the rental. Don't forget to take pictures when it is move-in ready. We want to see the end product!

Yeah, we blew off church this morning, too.  With Palm Sunday, Good Friday and 2 services on Easter, we decided to give the kids (and grownups) a sleep in day.

Tracy you are a good friend.  Not so sure I would be up to cleaning up the smelly rental place.

Laundry day for me too.  And I have ironing to tackle.  Better get to it.

Tracy, I don't know where you find the energy or time to help your friend but you're a good & loyal friend. I'm sure she appreciates it.And yes, we want to see the end result pics.

Renee, glad you got to spend time with Dominic. Enjoy your breakfast with John.

Jupiter turned out great! Kelsie did a great job. I'll post pics later.

Yes, I have to iron the uniform. I used to have it dry cleaned but the only places close to me are the high end ones. I just couldn't justify spending the money they wanted for them. There are cheaper places in town, but they are out of my way. Time is not exactly my friend. So every Sunday I iron 2 uniforms and DD's pants. Her middle school is a no-jeans school. They have to wear solid colored pants with beltloops and a zipper. So most of her khakis have to be ironed. DS's Hawaiian shirts get the iron too.

That rental house is still a hot mess. Yes, it smells better, but it still smells. Badly. We just finished painting her kitchen. I did all the trim, under the soffets, and the laundry closet. She is having the kitchen linoleum ripped out this week, tile put in, and the bathrooms redone. She then has to paint both bathrooms.

Now it's time to clean my house. Yuck!

Just telling the truth about the weather, Shelly.  I don't think I have a mean bone in my body.  At least I HOPE I don't take after my mother.

My foster dog, Gemini, was adopted this afternoon.  I had him 11 days.  He learned his name, I had him just about house trained, taught him to walk on a leash, he slept all night, and I taught him to sit for a treat just yesterday.  Gemini's new best buddy is a polite, well-mannered, nine-year-old boy named Mateo.  I really wanted Gemini to go to a home with another dog, because he was raised in a barn with 40 of them, but the family is building a house which will be finished in May, and Mom said they plan to adopt another dog when they move in.

Call me a glutton for punishment, but I'm driving to the clinic tomorrow morning to pick up another foster --Taurus, an older fawn male with some arthritis.  Yes, from the same puppy mill.  I think he will fit in well here.  I will continue to foster until we get the 40 dogs processed through the rescue and into forever homes.
