Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Ugh, Cara, those situations are the worst.   We have been at work for hours and just want to go home, but no.   There's always that one kid.   I get stuck waiting at ball games.   Not really spelled out in my job that I have to wait until the very last kid is gone, but my school is not in a great neighborhood.   We've said it a bunch, it's like we care more than their parents.   I'm not about the leave the kid standing out alone, but clearly the parent doesn't care to do it.   I have left groups, but not singles.  What a lousy way to treat your kid.   And I hear you on the painful concerts.   But I have never missed one either.   And I won't.

Oh Guss, what sounds like a terrible day.   And D's day starts at 9:00?   That's like the middle of the afternoon to me.  And 9:00-5:00 or 6:00 isn't bad at all.    That's a normal 8-hour work day or a 9 hour day.   Not what I would call a long day.  My point?    I don't see how he is too tired to help around the house.   Two hours in the tub playing Angry Birds would sure leave an Angry Mom in my house too.   I'd have been livid too.   He simply doesn't get it.

Mel, sorry you hit your face.   Sounds painful.  What does it look like this morning?

DD's game last night was cancelled for cold.   I have never experienced a game cancelled for cold.   This cold front that came in and took up residence over the area can move on out any time.  I am tired of being cold.   And my flowers bloomed and were quickly killed off by cold.   I never got one bouquet of daffodils on my kitchen table.   I love that smell so it makes me very sad.

One week from today it will all be better though.   I will be headed south.   Far south.   In looking at the extended forecast there, one of the days is supposed to be 90°.    Ahhhhh.....    Now I have to muddle through an insanely busy weekend and week next week and find time to pack.

Morning Ladies-

Guss I sure hope you enjoyed that wine because you sure did earn it!  When is it David is leaving for 2 months and have you helped him pack yet?  LOL

Cara that's pretty sad.  No wonder she is a snotty kid.  Probably really feels wanted I'll bet.

Shelly Webster is doing well for 15 plus.  How is Waylon doing at home?  Have you gotten out the help wanted ads for P? - LOL

Ugh, Guss - sorry David is being such a PITA. Too bad you can't leave him alone with both the kids for a couple of days (including overnight) just so he could catch a clue!

I had a concert tonight, and it went well, although I had to hang around for almost an hour after waiting for one of my students to get picked up. I just don't get that. Parents don't work nights or anything, she is an only child, but instead of coming to her concert (which is only an hour) they go out to dinner or shopping, or something. She called them 10 minutes after the concert was over. 45 minutes later they finally pick her up. She lives maybe 8 minutes away, so they were clearly just too busy to get there. Maybe they were waiting for their TV show to get over.  I understand that school concerts can be painful, really, I do, but how do you just drop your kid off and then leave them waiting for you for almost an hour after the event?   Some kids have issues because mom and dad are working nights, they don't have a working car, etc., but that is not the case here. Two parents, both have good jobs, etc. They can't be bothered to attend student-led conferences, either.

There is nothing worse than a kid's track meet, but I went to every dang one of them, in the cold and rain to watch my kid run for two minutes out of 2 hours.  Why have kids if you can't be bothered to show up for an hour? Frustrates me to no end. She is not my favorite kid - can be snotty and rude sometimes, but I really feel sorry for her. She apologized for making me wait. Not her fault. Ugh.Yell

OMG. I need to vent before I hit my husband in the face(no I wouldn't really but I like to fantasize about it sometimes) so David has been working later hours because they got a new 1st Sgt. Okay I get it your day starts at 9 and ends at 5-6 that sucks. At the same time the baby has been teething and now his schedule is off and he wakes up at 4:45, everyday. Yes he does go back to sleep, at 5:30...so guess who is up with him? Me. Yes I do get another thirty minutes to an hour of sleep when he goes back to sleep but seriously, 4:45!!!!!! So today David got off at 5 and came home. He has a PT test tomorrow, and its important because he leaves in 2 weeks to go to some course in Va for 2 months. So he came home I had dinner ready, I made spaghetti sauce because we were out and he said he needed carbs for his test tomorrow and I don't like store bought stuff...cool. Okay so at 6 he decides his legs hurt from doing Insanity and PT this week so he takes a bath. Okay...the baby decided not to nap today(which David knew) and was super cranky(which David also knew) but he gets in a bath at 6 when the baby goes to bed at 7.....yet again...cool. He stays in said bath for 2 freaking hours adding hot water as necessary.....so guess who is left taking care of crank pot and Evey? Me....did I mention my day started at essentially 4:45???? So finally I get sick of cranky baby and give him a bottle and put him to bed, I gave him the bottle at 6:45 and he was in bed by 7:15, guess who didn't say goodnight because he was busy in a bath tub playing angry birds? My husband. Please complain again about how working late cuts in to your "family time". So then I cleaned the kitchen, did dishes, and put everything up. Alright so he gets out the tub finally and decides to stretch, in the living room, which of course my 3 year old had to join in on, commence loud noises(she is 3 and daddy was playing right?) and lots of movement when I am sleepy! Whatever. So finally I ask David to go start Evey's bath, he was playing on the internet. He says in a minute, okay ten minutes later Evey is no closer to the tub or being clean I finally do it myself, yes I did give him attitude and he did offer to bathe he AFTER I had already started and gave him attitude when I declined saying I had already started he lays in bed...he did get her out the tub when she asked him to. Mighty nice of him....he then goes and lays back in bed. So I got her all ready for bed, tucked in, start her show and let the dogs out and in and put them up....all while he lays in bed. Then he comes out when I sit down to do whatever it is I want to do because hey my kids are in bed and I can be me not MOM for the first time all day and asks me for a BACK MASSAGE.......

Needless to say I ignored him and am currently drinking a glass of wine....

I've worked hard almost all day.  I swept and steamed the kitchen floor. Then I went into the "spare" room and straightened up in there.  I took out all of the YS stuff that Has been posted on the FB YS and hasn't sold and took it to the mission, I made 2 batches of pepperoni rolls, and then dinner. I need to do up my dishes.  I did 2 more loads of laundry and got it ALL put away.  I will sweep and steam the living room tonight after everyone goes to bed.  I was going to do it earlier, but P told me I was making too much noise and he couldn't see the TV. Yes, it is WAYYYYYYYY past time for him to go back to work!!!!

Mel ~ How are you feeling? And what if your family and Pauls have to say???

Gus ~ How is Baby B doing? How is the working out with David going for you all?

Tracy ~ It is WAYYY toocold to be sitting out. Burrrrrrr

Sandy ~ How is Webster doing?  How is your dad?

I wanted tocomment on more, but lost my train of thought. . . . .

Shelly, I'm so sorry you guys have to deal with this. I can only imagine the stress and worry. I hope you guys can find the help you need.

Tracy, doesn't sound like any fun to be sitting outside in freezing weather. I think Ray's going to cancel practice tonight because it is so cold here too. Bring on Spring please!

Mel, have you told all of your family the big news yet? I bet they are/will be excited! How have you been feeling?

Guss, is the manhunt anywhere near you guys? Seems like there is always something going on in CO.
