Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

I called Ed at 3418.  He was at the movies at that time last night.  He has a Great Dane, who was in the house.  Midnight would probably have scared anyone off.

I am 3416.

I messaged Steve at 3414.  He had no incident, and his Golden Retriever didn't bark at anything last night.

I don't know 3412.  He is new and works nights.

3410 is vacant.

Joan, at 3408 didn't have a problem.  They turn their door bell off at night.  (Who does that????)

I am not on friendly terms with 3417.  Her sons were hellions and caused me problems ten years ago.  They are adults, now.

Joe and Gloria at 3415 are beyond geriatric.  They have adult daycare.

I'm calling the alarm company tomorrow and inquiring about a security camera.  A real one; not a fake.

I ordered a CD of a big dog barking.  The pugs are useless; they didn't bark last night with a stranger standing at the front door.  Another shelter volunteer wants to lend me her Great Pyranees for a couple of days.

Going to the hardware store and buying a "Beware of the Dog" sign for the gate to the back yard.  Might go to the thrift store and look for a pair of men's size 14 work boots, which I will leave on the back porch.

Sitting here tonight in my armed fortress, a prisoner in my own home.  I can't go into the garage to empty the trash, get something from the freezer, or do laundry without disarming the alarm system first.  And I'm afraid to let the doggies outside to pee.  I am REALLY happy it is daylight savings time because I have one less hour of spooky night to endure.  The dogs sleep until the sun comes up, so I'm not worried about morning.

Ohhhh, now I'm craving crab and lobster mac & cheese instead of the pork chop and yam I planned for dinner :(

Today is Rowan's 9th birthday.  Christine and her girls and a friend are on their way to Atlantis for spring break.  Courtney is on the left and Gillian is on the right.  See what Courtney looks like without a couple hours worth of expert hair and makeup prep?  Just another kid, right?  Courtney looks like her dad, and Gillian looks like her mom, except for hair color in both instances.  Both parents are natural brunettes.

 Happy Birthday Rowan!!!!

Those incidents are too spooky, Gaye. Do you know if your neighbors are getting visitors too?

FB friends know I had another incident of a stranger at my door at an odd hour.  Actually, I had two incidents - one at 10:20 and one at 11:30.

Sandy asked: Could you tell what kind of cheese they used?

I don't know - something sharp and white - menu did not say what. They clearly made a nice cream sauce, added the cheese then mixed it with the mac and lobster and crab and put in the serving dish, sprinkled with buttery bread crumbs (probably panko) and put under the salamander to crisp up. Big hunks of crab and lobster, too. Pretty sure it was made completely à la minute.

Ugh. I want to go back for more of that right now! Instead I need to get on the bike again, I think!

I used to wear mine on my waist, Shelly.  I have also worn it on my cargo pants pocket at work.

I have been working in the yard today.   I raked up a ton of leaves that were gathered in the corners of my yard and in my garden plots.   Got all that put in my yard recycling container, picked up all the sticks in the yard and got those up, and then I took everything out of the car and vacuumed that out.   I put that back together and wiped out all the interior.   It's 68° here now and feels great out.

After that I cleaned the inside of the house, vacuuming and mopping.   Laundry has been going all day.   I need a break.   A beer sounds good.

Got out and walked to Rite Aide and back, was about a mile round trip.  I bought a pedometer, where is the best most accurate place to wear it?  I put it on when I got back here, and went to the 8th floor and put laundry in to wash. . . said 6 steps ummmm yeah that's not right!

It is a beautiful day out there, like 67* and sun shining, it did me some good to get out. I feel much better now.
