Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Morning Ladies -

Tracy I caught the "home" comment too.  Also caught the comment about taking away the video games.  Sounds like a joint parenting effort going on in that "home" also-CoolInnocent

Tracy said reason for the family's Florida trip but it does sound like a great way for her to travel.  All the kids should have a good time in that pool.  I can see pool/pizza party going on!

I am SO OVER SNOW too but alas we have snow/slush on our roads and this storm will not end till Friday afternoon.  UGH!

Fun times this morning.   I sign in.   “Web site cannot be found.”   I hit refresh and sign in again.   I got sent to the main iVillage Home page.   I sign in again.   Here I am.   Huge sigh….

I got my mammogram last week.   Got my all clear letter in the mail already too.   This week I knocked out my annual physical and I got my annual skin scan at the dermotologist.    Gynco visit done in January.   I’m good for the year.

Snow blows.   So over it.   We still have a little on the ground, but all asphalt and concrete sidewalks are clear.  DD’s first softball game is Saturday.   They are supposed to scrimamge tonight.   I hope those go off without any weather interference.   They are still calling for 60° and sun by Saturday.   Today is only high of 38, so today’s game may not happen.

I had a cool travel schedule change come up yesterday.   DS’s best friend’s grandfather is dying of cancer.   Cancer sucks.   There are 4 kids in that family.   They never travel in the spring because dad’s work won’t let them.  But since they might not get to see grandpa again, my friend is taking all 4 kids and heading south.   As I was picking up DS from her house last night she was saying it’s a long haul so they are leaving that Friday morning, kids missing school.   Long story short- so are we.   We got on the phone and got her a room at the same place we are staying on the FL/GA line for that night.   There is an indoor pool there so all 6 kids can swim.   Her hubby was very happy she’ll have a travel partner on the road.   We plan to leave at the same time and stop together.   He will meet them later in the week, so the drive home is taken care of.  They are an hour north of us in FL so we may even meet up at some point.

"If he gets that job, he will be working close to home so that means he will be home every night :)"

Anyone else just focus in on this??   So you all are officially living together, Shelly.   That's big news.  I hope he keeps behaving.

P is feeling better, but still not good. He hasn't thrown up very much the past week or so.  He did not have the scope, the doctor told him he didn't need it once they got the diagnosis. He has a guy that should call him this week to start back to work on Monday. If he gets that job, he will be working close to home so that means he will be home every night :)

Bicarb is Sodium Bicarbonate: Sodium bicarbonate is an antacid that neutralizes stomach acid. Sodium bicarbonate is used to relieve heartburn and indigestion. Sodium bicarbonate is also used to make the blood and urine less acidic in certain conditions.  Sodium bicarbonate may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.  Read more at http://www.drugs.com/mtm/sodium-bicarbonate.html#kGVC8saIPKJLFfHC.99

When they do his blood work they take 3 or 4 vials of blood and check soooo many things. This is just oneof the ones that was out of whack on Monday.  His hemoglobin was also down to 7.6 - a normal persons blood count is in the 12-15 range. Waylon's usually is in the mid 8 range.  His body just doesn't make enough. . . . but they didn't want to do anything about it at the moment.  I got a call today that they want repeat labs in the morning to see how his levels are, they they are staying up or not.

Shelly, what does bicarb mean? Glad Waylon's fixed up and no hospital stay.  How is P feeling?

I had an eye exam today for the first time since I was pregnant with Baylie. I just can't read things anymore. Small print is a big blur. I've always had great vision but everyone told me my age would creep up on me. I'm sticking with reading glasses for now. I don't want to have to deal with contacts or glasses full time. She told me eventually I would.

Shelly, how is P feeling?  Any better?   Has he had the scope?   I know he got a diagnosis, but I can't remember if that was from the scope or if he still has to have the scope done.   If he's better, when does he go back to work?

I'm glad W's whacked levels had an easy fix.

Hello ladies! I have been MIA for a few days, sorry.  I was having trouble getting logged in.

Gaye ~ your grand daughter is very pretty!!! The ad was a little 80ish to me too Tracy.

Tracy ~ You stink!! LOL I know you all will have a wonderful time.

Mel ~ Hope your toothache subsides.

We got about an inch of snow here, no delay or closing for us.

Monday, I tookthe boys to the dr. Waylon had lab work, before school. Went to advance auto for P to pick up some parts for his trucks. Waylon's corrdinator called me and asked how Waylon was doing, so I knew something was up. I said he is fine, tired alot, but ok.  She said his labswere totally outof whack and I needed to take him to the local ER and get some fluids with Sodium Barcarb in it. So I waited until he got in from school and we left here at 4:00, got there and in the ER at 5:00 we got home at 2:00 Tuesday morning.  I kept him home from school, he didnt get up until noon. But he got 2 runs of bicarb and his numbers came back up!!

Yesterday I didn't do much of anything. I was tired. I cleaned and did some laundry. Today I am headed to the grocery store with mom andthen home tomake dinner and wait for the boys :)
