Q&E Babble

Okay, I give.   I am doing it.   I miss PPWM too much.

I want to babble.   I think you all want to babble.  So let’s babble here and then go back to PPWM when they finally get us fixed.   I know, it’s discouraging now, but I am too optimistic for my own good.   I do think iVillage will get this mess fixed.   One day.

For those not on FB, Shelly is monitoring Waylon, debating on a trip to Pitt.   He ran a fever all day yesterday and most of the night.   At her last check in, he’s down to 99.   She’s calling the coordinator this morning.

I had my work party last night.   I took a platter of Jalapeno Cheese Grits.   I have never had 6 people ask me for a recipe before.   I heard they were, “on point” and “ready.”  I love it when I bring the most popular dish.   There wasn’t a scrap left.

Off to get dressed for work.   As of 3:00 today I am done until January 2nd.   And then I can start counting down for my spring break beach trip.

Yeah, I'm not upset that I didn't get a present, I mean if I want something,I get it.But it hurts that no one even acknowleged me, or went out of their waytobe nice. Oh well, no use in having a pity party.

I did get quite a few things checked off of my to do list so far today. I still have a couple heavy things in the dryer that didn't dry first round, so I need to get them out when they get done. But I got my phone calls done, Waylon's food ordered and an appointment to go tour the private school we want to send the boysto next year. Got all ofthe other laundry put away,  dishes done, trash to the curb, and the bed made.

Where is Sandy this morning??? Wonder how her MIL is doing after surgery???

Shelly, I feel ya on the Mother's Day.  I told DH I want a few simple things.  To not yell at the girls, no laundry, no cleaning, and no cooking.  Well my nap was disrupted because 2 girls were fighting, I washed 2 loads of laundry yesterday, cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast, and had to make the girls bed time snack last night.  None of it was a major deal, because I do it every other single day of the year, BUT DAMN, I asked for ONE day "off".

I've had a small, thumping headache for about 5 days, my right side of my mouth is killing me (has been for about a month and the dentist appt is next Thursday!) and I haven't slept through the night in about a week.  I feel like I could start crying at any moment and I hope I don't snap on anyone.  Also I have something to do every night this week.  Nothing big, but still something.  And DH has to pick up the girls from the sitter on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and I KNOW I will hear about it SEVERAL times this week and probably next.

Well, I guess I didn't find any shortcuts by asking how everyone came to this thread... LOL... Oh well, like Tracy said, it is totally worth it... and don't think that I don't come here to read, I do... but I will be able to more often when I get the battery and electrical cord for my laptop and do not have to borrow Ashleigh's.  It will not work at all without being plugged in so with a new battery AND a new plug, I should be in business... until my laptop decides to play out ... which I hope is NOT soon!!!  LOL

It was freezing here this morning when I had my hubby drop me off at work at 5:30 am!  Plus, he did not go warm up his truck so it was cold for a while.  I don't know what I was thinking... I did not wear a coat because the coat I usually wear I gave to my mom because she said she liked it Thursday.

It looks like starting Wednesday it will warm up here... but rainy most the whole week!  I have been waiting to go sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes to an hour each day so I won't burn to a crisp in Texas when we go but it has been cold or rainy every day so I just may go sign up at the fake & bake.  I won't get my full month but that's okay... I don't want to be snow-white down there at the wedding or when I'm swimming!

Renee, when my hubby got all 6 of his wisdom teeth taken out (he had 2 behind 1 of them and one was growing up into his sinus cavity), I cooked him mashed potatoes & gravy, sometimes just milk gravy by itself and lots of McDonald's shakes.  At least now they have tons of smoothies out there you can buy or recipes you can make.. back in 1985 the shakes at McDonalds was about all I could buy for him.  He did love my milk gravy though... lol.

We had a good day celebrating Mother's Day Saturday at Sagano.  Forgot to take any pics of the chef cooking up our food though.

My mom went home to take a nap and Amber, Nick & Presley went home to give Presley a nap.  Luke came with us and my hubby and Ashleigh both took a nap.  I wished Luke would have taken a nap too but he didn't... so therefore I didn't... lol.  They all came back around 4:00 and we played 2 games of Trivial Pursuit (my mom's favorite game) and had dessert.

Amber brought a cheesecake sampler and a huge platter of cookies they got at Sam's (whatever was left they were taking to Blu-Ray Fest) and Ashleigh had made a lemon pie.  That pie was delicious and fairly easy.

I am sure your cake was awesome, Tracy... it's the taste that counts anyway!

I think Amber found the lemon pie recipe on Pinterest... all you did was mix 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk with 2/3 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice and pour it into a graham cracker pie crust and top with whipped cream.  Refrigerate it for a few hours so it sets up.  The hardest part was squeezing that lemon juice.  She used one of these deals...

I had no idea these things were vintage until I just tried to find a picture... lol.  I bought this at a flea market over 30 years ago for a quarter.

Poor Ashleigh though.... she had squeezed almost a whole bag of lemons and then spilled the juice all over the counter and herself.  So, my hubby had to go back to the store for more lemons... LOL.   I told her next time just use bottled juice!  But, I do have to admit, that pie was delish and not sure it would have been so good with bottled juice.

Well, I better get back to work... I am on the countdown for our Telethon on June 2nd and then I leave for TX on June 5th... I will probably be working 18 hour days the 3rd & 4th trying to get all that telethon stuff done before I leave.  So... I CANNOT be behind on June 2nd or else I will NOT get everything from the telethon done.  I am working on donations that arrived in our office on April 30th.... TOO FAR BEHIND!!!  I am supposed to process the donation and send the thank you letters within 3 days of receiving them.  I haven't met that goal since January....and some people get ticked if they don't get their thank you letter right away.  Ugh... but, it's not my fault they laid my co-worker off... even though the atmosphere is WAY better here, I am way behind because of it.  Oh well, i'm still glad to have a job!

Hope everyone has a great Monday... sorry that I only talked about myself and did not address anyone else... I have been thinking about y'all though.... a lot.

Good Morning ladies!

I am up,but not moving yet LOL  Watching GMA, I do have a load of laundry in washing. I have a list of Domestic Diva items I need to get crossed off of my list today.

Boys off to school, I told Waylon I didn't want to get a call about him being sick, because he is fine!!!!  Jeffrey was complaining with his ear hurting, but that is normal.

Yesterday was a BUST for Mother's day!  Me,mom, dad, Waylon and Jeffrey went out to dinner. The boys were fighting (as usual) Dad was b!tching (as usual) and mom was yelling at him (again, as usual). I just pulled over and started to turn around but then they all yelled at me. I had an awful time. :(  Then the boys were holy terrors once we got home, had to yell at and whip both of them!!! Yeah, Happy Mother's Day to the most stress out mom award goes RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you all seethe Space Commander singing in space? AWESOME!!!

Well, I am off to do some hose work!!

Yup, sure is Monday.

Where has everyone been hiding? Come on out!

I had a nice day yesterday. I cleaned, watched the Reds game, DS assembled a baseball bounce-back net thing (helps you with fielding), and then DS and I went for a long bike ride. That used muscles I haven't used in a while. DD has discovered John Grisham so she spent the day with her nose in a book. We had fried chicken at my parent's for supper.

My cake sort of flopped. I should have frozen the cake layers before I layered it all together. It slid to one side of the cake carrier while in the freezer setting. And I have no idea where the ice cream went. I used almost a whole half gallon and it was gone. I assume it sunk into the cake layers. It had a really good flavor, but it looked like a hot mess.

Well, this is it: DD's final week of high school softball. She only has 2 games left. She is not at all ready for it to end. The District tournament starts next week and that's all single elimination. Her summer team hasn't practiced in 3 weeks because it rains every weekend and it's always a rain out. Hopefully that will get rolling again soon.

It's hard to believe my son has 10 days left of elementary school. It really is winding down.

I'm finally liking our weather forecast. Once we make it through today it's all upper 70's and 80's. Bring on that sun!

Wow that does sound like a good cake Tracy!

Susan love the 'party' !

John worked all day and I had Amyah.. I cleaned =)..  Casey got me flowers and Maggie brought me adult beverages and lottery tickets !  John picked me a big bouquet of lilacs.  Molly worked and she said Red Lobster Wed or Thur - her next day off ..

Talked to all three of my sisters and our NY trip is delayed. Susan my sister in Ohio that lived in and cared for an elderly lady - the lady died so she is kinda jobless =/..  She said she can't go so none of us will go. We are thinking a day trip over by Lake Michigan just to hang out and eat =)..

Saturday night it rained a little and the races were delayed one hour- and it was freezing !!! Came home and turned on the furnace- first time in awhile..  Supoose to be in the 80's on Wednesday!

Welp its Monday again...
