QOTD for MONDAY

I am still hesitant to use some of my better QOTD ideas since we are still struggling to get everyone back.
Have you ever worked at a place that gave out some sort of a bonus? What was it?

My first police job was in a small town, about 30 minutes away from where I live now. They gave all city employees either a ham or a turkey the week before Christmas. You got to choose which one you wanted. I always took the ham and gave it to my parents for Christmas dinner. My mom is picky about her turkeys.
That agency also gave all city workers with a college degree a $500 bonus on December 1st. I think there were two of us cops getting them at the time. I bet there are lots more now. Police work doesn't require a degree, but it's getting to be that you can't get hired without one. The agency always referred to those as "smart checks." It was a great perk. I loved not having to save for Christmas.
The place I work at now does.... first year you work you get a box of chocolates, second year was $15 gift certificate, third was $25 ... up to $35 I think... guess I will find out this year, since its my 5th year! .( full timers get a bonus, but not sure what that is since Im not full time)
At my old job I had gotten 4 bonuses (was there over 9 years). They ranged from a bottle a wine (which I don't drink) to a crockpot and a pie pan, which I got to pick from a list that were redeemed credit card points. The last was after the 2008 election. Got a pretty hefty cash bonus.
Last year at my new job was a cash bonus for Christmas. According to my co-worker that's the norm, the amount depends on the year we've had. 2012 was relly good for us.

Nope!
When Erick was at the Sheraton he got a turkey or two, but not every year.
I have worked for companies that gave out awesome year-end bonuses, based on a percentage of profits for the year. I left one of those companies, and then it was sold. And the second company ultimately failed. Actually, the boss I recently returned to, temporarily, paid a pretty nice Christmas bonus, too.
Hmmm Gaye, you will be there at Christmas time...
Gaye, didn't she do the big fancy meals for occassions too? Maybe you'll be in on one of those this year.
