Do you have a favorite Christmas ornament?
Or maybe you have a favorite style?
What does it look like?

Okay, I am thinking I need to go shopping the day after Christmas to find me a sparkly woody with a sparkly tree on top.

Also... I need some strength and victory.... I need evil warded off, my property needs to be protected from theft and my family members need strength to carry on with life's challenges in the New Year so I guess I need me a sparkly bulb of garLICK too!!  LOL

Love you too, Tracy!

I do not have a "pickle" on my tree but I do have a bulb of garlic -and before you even ask Daisy - YES it sparkles!

The Garlic

An ancient Egyptian symbol for strength and victory, garlic wards off evil and protects property from theft. Hanging garlic on your Christmas tree is believed to protect your household during the festive holiday season. It further provides strength to family members to carry on with life’s challenges in the New Year.

Let’s see…. We have woodies, pickles, blowing, and avoiding blue balls on this thread.   Is it any wonder I love you girls.

Yes, I do play with my pickle a lot.   You are supposed to hide it and the one that finds it gets a pickle of their own.   ;-)

I think Tracy is too busy playing with her pickle than to notice the woody.

Any way Daisy it does sparkle - a lot.  It is glass blown.  Now let's see where this goes!

Sandy - I love that woody with the tree on top too.... reminds me of some of the old Christmas shows like The Waltons or Miracle on 34th Street or It's a Wonderful Life.  Wonder if they have any that sparkle?  LOL

Can't believe Tracy did not jump on Cara's woody comment.... lol

Daisy, I love sparkly too.  I also have the pickle- as do my parents.

Cara, I have that same silver Pooh on the red ribbon.  No idea where I got it from.

Okay, I hope I don't go to all this trouble posting these pics only to have the guru squash my efforts!

Like I said, I love anything sparkly...and I think all of my ornaments are either red, green, gold, white or silver... no purple or blue or pink or yellow...

I have a lot of these little snowy gold pine cones...

This is a red sequin covered ball I got at the dollar store for $1!

This is the ornament my grandmother made at least 30 years ago... I was pregnant for Amber when she died and Amber is 30... but I'm not sure when my grandma made it... I am sure it was before I was married because I remember telling her it my favorite of all that she had made.  Five of us cousins all got to pick one and I went first because i was oldest... I scooped this up fast as could be!  Each one of those little beads around the larger oval beads are seed beads put in place with a straight pin.

Another dollar store red glittery ball

A dollar store red glittery snow flake

Here is my pickle ornament with the little card attached that tells the story of putting a pickle on your tree.

Luke helped decorate the tree this year... he loved putting on the ornaments.  I only let him put the unbreakable ones on .... but i have not moved them.  He's got 2-3 ornaments on 3 each branch but my grandbaby put them there and he thought it was awesome so grandma thinks it's awesome too!!!

Believe it or not, I have previously always been very persnickety about my tree.... if one of my girls put an ornament in a spot that was not great, I secretly moved it when they were out of the room.  But, that has totally gone out the window.... Luke (and Presley when she's old enough) can put those ornaments anywhere they want and they will stay there!

I tried to get some pics of his 2 or 3 or 4 ornamented branches...

And finally this is my Christmas Tree Angel.... Her dress is green...  I think she's beautiful!

Easy answer...I gave my grandpa some sea shells years ago (I was probably 5 or so).  He drilled tiny little holes in them and strung them all together and made them into a Christmas ornament.  I always like going over there to see where they were on the tree each year.  After he passed away in 1996, my grandma gave them to me that Christmas.  I used to put them on the tree every year, but now have them hanging in the kitchen as a decoration.
