The talk about tuna fish last week put me in the mood for some. So I had some for lunch yesterday.
Do you like tuna fish? Which variety to you buy? How do you prepare it?

Like Renee only by accident! If I do accidently pick up a can in oil the dog gets a special treat for dinner. I won't touch it.
Sorry I'm late....
Yes, I love tuna salad sandwiches~ In fact, eating one as I am typing this. I got interrupted during my lunch today by big bossman so I was gracious and just packed everything up and brought it back to my desk so I could do whatever he wanted me to do.
I make it with MAYO (NOT Miracle Whip!), grated onion or dried minced onion, sweet pickle relish & chopped boiled egg if I have the gumption to boil some (or already have some boiled). My grandmother got me hooked on the sweet pickle relish & egg.... and yes, I prefer it a few hours after I make it or even better the next day. It's because of the onions.... the flavor gets all through it if it sits overnight .... I made this batch Sunday night.
I was mad at myself because I forgot to bring a sandwich with me yesterday and figured I would have to make that long haul to the hospital cafeteria but my co-worker brought me some of her homemade chicken noodle soup! It was good too... I was glad she saved me that long trip since I had already made it twice before lunch yesterday (I've made it twice today already too!).
Anyway.... I always buy the white tuna packed in water in the pouches instead of cans.... I love it in the pouches... no draining or anything! But, I do make sure that it says "Dolphin Safe" somewhere on the package!
Back when I was first married, tuna packed in water was a lot higher in price as tuna packed in oil so I bought it in oil all the time... it's what my grandma always bought too so it was pretty much all I knew. I hated draining it though... it seemed like it took forever. But, I poured it over our dog, Micky's food too, Sandy.... I heard it was good for their coat. He LOVED it!
A few years later when I was going to weight watchers, they recommended you buy tunat in water so I did. I figured it would taste crappy but it didn't.... and it seemed like after a while, the price kind of evened out between the oil vs water packed so we now buy it packed in water (in the pouches.... have I said how much I love the pouches yet? well, I do!)
I make my tuna salad the same way, with Mayo, relish and chopped egg, but I also add shredded cheese. It's delicious!
I have bought it in oil but it's too greasy and slimy. Only water now.
