My dad had a white VW bug for years. My sister and I loved his Herbie car.
When my great-grandmother had the car keys taken from her I was given her car to drive. It looked like this, also in powder blue, but it had fins.
We used to laugh that I could put three people in the back, all sitting cross-legged, and no one would touch each other. There was an AM radio in there and I found a big band station. I jammed that brass music. I had fun with that car.
My sister learned to drive on a Turismo Duster. Oh how I envied that car. That is until the motor blew up. It had those black things down the back windshield like this one. Hers was brown.
I remember 2 cars in particular. One was this car:
A matador - ours was like this except it was all the ugly pumpkin orange.
And then we had a Checy Love pickup truck like this:
Ours was a baby blue color with a white topper. We had it when we lived in North Carolina. I remember we started a trip up to WV to visit and a big 18 wheeler passed us and kicked a rock up and shattered our windsheild.
I have a really bad memory and can not remember much about my child hood. What I can remember is just little snippits of memories. :( I wish I could remember more.
