I know I am not going to be able to word this the way I want, but here goes...

What is your favorite food flavoring? You know the flavors that you can't say no to. The spice/flavor you cook with a lot.

What food flavor turns you away every time?

I love the zip that vinegar gives foods.   I tend to put it in a lot of stuff.   Jeff claims he is not a fan, but he has no idea how much of it he has consumed over the years, not knowing there is vinegar in there.

I also adore garlic and I use a ton of it.   I planted a few bulbs for the first time this year.   It's cheap enough to buy, but I think it'll be fun to have my own on hand if they come up.

As most everyone knows, I cannot abide the flavor of onion.   I think the onion flavor overpowers everything else and that's all you taste.   And I don't like the overpowering flavor it gives.

Salt.....I could not live without it.

I'm not a fan of too much basil.

I use alot of spices, so I cant name one I love over another. How ever fresh garlic can become to much for my body, so far I dont react to dried.

I havent found anything I like fresh coriander in  or lavender but who knows.

I can't really think of any one spice that I can't not eat.  As my husband normally reminds me, I grew up as a pretty bland eater.  It was usually salt and pepper, but not much else.  We have red salt at home that we cook with alot.  I don't know what's all in it.  My MIL gets it from a family friend.  It's close to a Lawry's mix I believe.

I don't care for garlic, too overpowering for me.  It depends on my attitude when it comes to onions (sorry Tracy & Cara).  I will use onion powder and flakes, but I rarely cook with fresh onions.  I do like onions in chinese food, but not anything else.  I don't do spicy either.  My mouth, stomach, and toilet Tongue Out don't like it.

I love basil, cilantro, garlic, onion, cumin just to name a few.  Oh and curry - love that also.  What I do not like is anything with too much salt.  I use very little when cooking.  I hate when that is all you can taste is salt.

I do like my salt too.   But I agree that when you get too much it's terrible.

I love onions but only a few...  I am not one to smother my stuff in onions.  I like the vinegary stuff too, Tracy, like Salt & Vinegar chips or malt vinegar with french fries.  Y'all probably already know that I like to drink dill pickle juice and I keep the juice from the mild yellow banana peppers in a jar to add to my tossed salad, potato salad or macaroni salads.  Yummy!

I also love most anything "buffalo" style!  I am still waiting to try the buffalo chicken griller at Taco Bell.  And i've got a few other buffalo recipes that i need to try ... yummy~

Garlic is almost always too powerful for me.. cracks me up that Tracy adores garlic but not onion, i find just the opposite, garlic usually overpowers stuff for me.  A little is fine... like a sprinkle or two of garlic powder added.

Not a big fan of cilantro.. tastes and smells like dishsoap to me!  I can and have eaten it if it is mixed into a dish but if it's more than just an tty-bitty bit, I gag.  I cannot stand cutting it up for a dish either, I've tried to like it but it smells awful!

Of course i do love my salt... i think most everyone likes SOME salt, it does make almost everything taste better.  And, I agree that an overabundance of salt is disgusting.  But, I think that too much of any spice is usually disgusting!

Buffalo flavor!  That's another one I forgot about.   I love it.   That's more what I had in mind for this question, flavors over spices.

Funny about the garlic, Daisy.   I find it to be fairly mild.
