What do your everyday dishes look like?

How long have you had them?

My mom said she had to go with platinum because she can't stand the look of silverware and a gold band on the plates.  I would have never thought about that.

Now those I like a lot Tracy.  My good china is white with gold and like Cara said I don't use it much because it can't go into the dishwasher.  Looks pretty much like this -

Sandy you and my mom could shop all day together.  Her dish advice to me was to pick something that will never go out of style.  That's why I got Ocean Breeze.  White with a thin 2-color band.

I was wrong about my china.  It's Mikasa, Classic Flair is the pattern.  It is white with a patterened white cala lilly in it.  I still really like them.  It's discontinued.  I looked it up this morning.  A 45-piece set costs $800.   Maybe I should think about selling it.... ;-)

What's funny, Cara, is that I went back and forth on the Noritake pattern you posted.  I loved that one too.   I had a hard time chosing between the two.

The Lenox my mom has is also white, with a platinum band around it.  I'm not 100% sure this is it, but it looks like this:

See I am just the opposite of you Cara.  I like the plain white because that way the food is the showcase.  I had a set of blue dishes that everyone loved.  I could not stand eating off of them.  Did not like the way my food looked on it.  I sold them in a tag sale to a gal who loved the color.  I told her how i couldn't eat off of them and she said oh I only have white or clear glass dishes.  I am going to smash these and use them in my mosaic pieces I make.  The color is beautiful.

Mine are plain white from Pier One.  Got them about 6 years ago when we moved in to our new home.  I had a set of plain white before also.  And like Gaye I don't remember the last time I took out the "fine china" which is white with a gold band.  I also have a set of Royal Albert Christmas dishes which I have not unpacked since our last move.
