I only know the opening ceremonies are tomorrow, only because I watched the news this morning. We do have a few locals that are going, but I don't even know when they are on.
I am not a big follower... If I catch gymnastics or diving I will usually watch for awhile, but it doesn't really hold my interest for long! I liked watching Michael Phelps last time around, too.
My brother mentioned that they are broadcasting in real time this year (at least on US network tv), instead of tape delaying. He was always frustrated by knowing who won before we could see the events!
We haven't had the tv on at all the last couple days, since Erick is working late and going to bed early. He had to be in at 4 this morning, and for the next couple mornings, for a big conference group.
Growing up as a big time swimmer, the Olpympics were the sports pinnacle. Swimming is one of those sports where the Olympics are as goos as you can ever hope to accomplish. And I love watching swimming still. I can't wait. My favorite Olmpic moment ever, last time when the French team had a comamnding lead on the US Men's team on the freestyle relay. Phelps needed that race to set his record number of gold metals in one games. At the final turn the US swimmer is way behind, with the announcers saying the US team is trying to hang on to win silver. Then on the final lap Lezak, the US swimmer, barrels down and produces the fastest relay split in history and out-touches the French swimmer. I tear up watching it.
I love the Olympics! I like to watch it all but my favorites are gymnastics and swimming!! Michael Phelps is a favorite! He is amazing!! I remember Aaron Tracy!
I don't do sports at all. No watching rooting nothing. I used to be into watching Boxing, but havent done that for years, and When Scott and I were married I got into watching PBR (Professional Bull Riding) with him and I liked it. I guess if the boys were into playing sports, I would get into sports.
I do like to watch the swimming, diving and gymnastics for the summer games. I really will enjoy watching the coverage from London. It reminds me of our trip there a few years ago.

So yeah, I love the swimming. And the gymnastics. And the diving. And the track.
I will miss my favorite swimmer Aaron Peirsol. He was in the last two games and now retired.

I can't wait for the swimming. I am hoping to replace my Eye Candy Aaron soon. Some likely candidates:
Ryan Lochte

R
Tyler Clary
Conor Dwyer
Rickey Berens (on right)
They're rather a fit lot, huh?
This guy would be my pick from those you posted, Tracy....
Michael Phelps, while he is a great swimmer, does not do much for me in the good looking department.
