Well if I hold the door open for someone or open the door for someone I am usually gabbing away so they usually do say something back to me. Not always "thank you" but something - lol!

I don't say anything, if I even notice, because I know I've done the nice thing and that is all I care about.

Sometimes I mutter under my breath. Does that count? Especially if I am pushing a stroller or holding kids hands, but have gone out of the way to hold the door. I always look right at the person and say, "thank you so much!" when someone holds it for me. You'd be surprised at how many people will let the door slam on a stroller or a little kid.
