My neice had a baby in an ambulence yesterday.

Her birth certificate will read 'Born out of hospital.'

You hear about these things happening-

Do you know anyone this has happened to ???

Nope.  I have never thought about what those birth certificates say.  Interesting.

How's she doing today?

I'm going to have to ask my Mom because she was born at home, I thought they only said city, county and state...hmmmm.

Any news?

I will have to double check too...I thought ours only said city, state, and county.

The neighbors had their last baby at home (on purpose). With everything that happened, I don't know if they will have any additional kids at home or not.

I heard about someone in my hometown that was speeding to the hospital, didn't stop for the cop trying to pull them over, and actually had the baby about 3 minutes after getting to the hospital. Cop says Congrats and left without another word!

I don't know anybody who was born in an ambulance (that I know of anyway) but I do know someone who got pregnant as a teenager and did not tell anyone and disguised her pregnancy with big sweaters & sweatshirts. She ended up delivering in the toilet because she didn't know what labor felt like and thought she had to poop! Before that I had heard about women delivering in toilets but I never knew any.

Here is what I know today :

Short and sweet: Jordyn is being cooled over 72 hours and warmed back up after over 12 hours as a preventative measure against swelling of brain/future possibility of brain damage. So far she is responding well.

Yes used to be common in my old home town when they first shut down the  Materinty ward at the local hospital and then shut down the closest hospital during summers.  The guy who ran the   sausage and candy stand mid way, got really good at delivering babies .
