I called when Amber was little because she drank dish soap but I think that was the only time. I have called for our dogs too.

You can look up pills kn the Internet too....done it many times. Just type the color, shape and numbers or letters in a search engine.

Thanks for that info Tracy.

I did call Poison Control when Max was little. I can't remember exactly why, just that I did..paranoid new Mom thing apparently;). I have always had the number on an inside cupboard.

Good to know Tracy!

Yes we have. Natalie drank some lamp oil (it was red and she confused it for kool-aid) when she was 2ish at my MIL's. The adults (DH, MIL, and I) freaked out and then she aspirated some into her lungs. We called poison control and they said not to make her vomit and take her to the ER. They asked which hospital we were going to. Once we arrived at the hospital, they brought us right in and knew everything already because Poison Control had called them and told them everything. We were transferred to the regional Children's Hospital in the Pediatric ICU Squad and then stayed in the ICU all night as a preventative measure. That was one EXPENSIVE trip to MIL's house! lol Turns out, if we wouldn't have freaked out, her not aspirated, she would have been completely fine, because it wasn't toxic. Getting it in her lungs was the bad part.

My mom also had to call on me when I was younger. I took too many vitamins. She was instructed to give me Ipecac syrup because the vitamins had a lot of iron in them. I puked and puked...and then dry heaved and dry heaved...OMG, it was the worst thing ever. LUCKILY, they didn't have to pump my stomach. It was terrible.
