Hello, I am a years long lurker of this board. From what I gather from reading so long I live north of the border from you but  I am planning a small 50-60 wedding and looking at places in your state, this will my second and his first wedding and was hoping maybe you had a review of any or all of the next three places I want to check out.

By looking online I was thinking of looking at Nutmeg, La Notte and Mill on the River.

I know this may seem odd to get a request from a stranger who has never even posted here before.

If you decide to help

Thank you in advance

Corinna

Well welcome to our corner of IV!  Glad you delurked.  If you have been a lurker than you know I am also a fustrated wedding planner so you asked the right gal here - ROFL!!!

Of the ones you listed my 1st choice would be Mill On The River.  Beautiful grounds and great food.  They do an excellent job with weddings.

What's the date of the event?

Do you live in MA?

Am I invited to the wedding?  LOL!

YAY you answerd.  From pictures the Mill is my #1.  We are not doing a church wedding and would be getting married there.  It just looks so "us".  They are having a open house this weekend but due to a funeral we most likely won't make it there.  No date yet, we have been together 8 years but only engaged a few months.  Yes I am in MA.  My man is going through the CT police academy right now after retiring with 24 years in the Air Force and said he wants to get trhough that before we talk wedding plans but he has been looking at menus with me on the weekends.

I have another question,  did you ever eat in Westfield mid 80's to mid 90's?  My mother was co owner of a restaurant there during that time.

I think I will try to post more.  I probably should have done this before the board layout changed.

Well of course I answered.  If you have been lurking here you already know what a warm and fun group we are!  Please join in.  We know the new board are a pain BUT we are all worth it - lol!

I would make a dinner reservation at the Mill.  Then you can check out the food and the lay of the land.  It is located right on the river and if you plan it right an outdoor wedding there is just gorgeous.

What was the name of your Mom's restaurant?

Hello, and thank you so much for delurking.   I always wonder how many lurkers we have out there, following our daily grinds.   So glad you decided to post.   And I couldn't agree more that this new format is the pits.

Police work?   Did I hear something about a police academy?   Yay!   If you have lurked for years, you know I am a cop too.   I work in a high school.   I can talk police shop all day.   Probably longer than you'd like.

So glad to have a new face here.   Jump on in any of our threads.  We'd welcome the company.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yup he will be a cop, He has just over 4 weeks left.  He also was a cop in the Air Force for 24 years.  I can't wait for the next 4 weeks to be done, they live at the academy m-f and after the military and deployemnts this is our last seperation which is nice.  He is also teh oldest in his class at 43, a few others close to him but most are low to mid 20's.

I tend to be a shy person at first but I'm working on over coming that.  I am going ot do my best to try to post here.  It might only be the whats for dinner threads at first.
